  1. Here’s the deal. Jokes about masturbation and sex were Blink’s whole shtick for *years*. I’m sure that they’ve made some women uncomfortable in the past. Can’t see how that wouldn’t be a possibility.

I'm pretty sure on the Mark Tom and Travis show, they point out specific fans in the crowd and mention their breasts or bodies. I think I've heard similar on other bootlegs. I'm pretty sure one of Tom's jokes is about how he hopes some girl he points out is 18. They relished in offending people for a long time, going for shock value, joking about incest and homosexuality and other stuff for ages. Some of it is harmless absurdity, and it was always at its best when it made them look like idiots, which they also loved doing, but plenty of it was just straight up shitty. Both Tom and Mark actively spewed a lot of dumb, horrible shit onstage.

There's that one of Tom and a super young girl like holding each other that is unbelievably creepy. I tried briefly searching, but came up empty.
Honestly, the fact that they still play Dumpweed/Dysentary Gary kinda bums me out. I haven't listened to those songs in years, but they are fan favorites so the band doesn't really seem to care.

Playing Dysentary Gary is especially weird since they weren't even playing it with Tom in the band and they have some better deep cuts

I think I remember reading that Matt really likes that song so that might be why they brought it back.

Somewhere in Brand New thread....It's probably just speculations and what people heard..but once again even speculations are based or something and wouldn't be right just ignore it..especially now..I don't know...Iam just sad...people suck

I think a lot of this talk about other bands is focusing on their members adult lives with their partners. I’ve heard a lot of people say things like “well Adam lazzara is next. He’s exactly like Lacey. Big time adulterer.” And that may very well be true but nobody cares about that. Nobody cares that he cheated on his wife, that’s a personal and moral dilemma for him. The problem is he was preying on 15 year old girls when he was 25.

So I don’t think we see a bunch of people coming forward saying they were victimized by these band dudes while they were teens. I think people are trying to connect the two different scenarios and you can’t. They’re very different.

Yup at every show until 2003ish they made jokes like this. You hate to defend them by saying "well that stuff was ok in 1999" because I'm sure looking back on most of the stuff they said they're probably embarrassed about now, especially having wives and kids now. Whether right or wrong back then, saying stuff like that even as a joke was accepted when they did it but if they said even a quarter of that stuff today they would be hammered by everyone and rightfully so. That was their gimmick back in the day and what they were known for, it obviously doesn't age well. Mark has even changed some of his lyrics in songs he sings now (like Apple Shampoo he doesn't say the "r" word) so not to offend people so they are obviously aware of it and had toned down the banter starting in 2003 (although they might be because that's when they started to hate each other). I don't think their comments were ever meant to be anything but harmless and jokey but yeah it doesn't play well in 2017.

Ya, when I think that back to 5th grade when Dude Ranch came out....from that point until Blinks initial break up....the stuff they would say in front of thousands of people were vulgar as hell, especially being ages 11-17 during that time. My parents and friend’s parents never said anything about it bc they figured “it was apart to the show”. But just like many other young fans of the band, my friends and me would run around repeating stuff they said all the time, not giving a single care in the world what others thought if they cared at all. Talking about bent penises and boobs like it was our job. Man oh man. I’m surprised we didn’t get into trouble bc of that. The pages have truely flipped these days, as they should. Crazy to think about.

I can’t imagine the Blink guys talking like that today nor do I want to. That’s creepy to think about. I just wish they changed up their setlist more than anything lol.

Yeah I think Mark has made an effort to be more mindful of that stuff and leave the really inappropriate/offensive lyrics and banter behind. Well, apart from Dumpweed and Dysentary Gary I guess.

lol teenagers are still out there talking about sex in a vulgar fashion. We're adults so we pay attention to the way the media reacts to vulgarity. It still goes on

For sure. I was in high school as recently as 2014 and the shit my friends would say would be worse than anything blink said on stage

The issue isn’t vulgarity, I don’t give a shit about that and find a lot of vulgarity, including dumb Mark and Tom jokes from that era, funny. The issue was the homophobia and objectification/sexualization of fans, which they unfortunately played into. I remember a couple rape and pedophelia jokes as well.

Travis and Matt need to do a side project, that way Travis will have drummed for all Blink vocalists. Make it happen.

Can you imagine what a BCR album would sound like in 2017? It would probably be Letters to God Part 2 meets Golden Showers From the Golden State. I'd rather Tom just leave BCR as a one and done.

haha my favorite is when people act like a new Box Care album would be sooo much better than a new AvA album. Like Tom is suddenly going to sound like he used to because he changes the name of the project.
