That record is great! One of my favorites from this year.

 

I know it's going back a bit, but the All Time Low stuff is always creepy to me. Collecting bras, making tons of sex jokes, etc. I'm sure I'm thinking too much into it, but it's pretty weird.

 

I gotta listen to Julien Baker. I am absolutely terrible about getting into new music and almost never seek out new artists, but I'm hearing so many good things.

 

Earlier this year I was like, if Brand New, my favorite band, never put out music ever again and ended I won't care cause there is plenty of great music out there... then the new record... then this... aghhhhh.

Julien Baker is the best songwriter on planet earth.

 

I won’t be listening to Science Fiction for the foreseeable future, if ever again. Though I can’t deny how much I loved the album, and what a huge and memorable part of the year it was for me.

I know it’s trivial and doesn’t matter, but I certainly won’t be able to put together any sort of AOTY list. I’d feel shitty and wrong if I included it, and the list would be disingenuous and a false representation of my year if it wasn’t on there.

It was just a random dumb thought, but it got me wondering how Chorus will handle it’s end of the year list.

I listened to a lot of Sorority Noise today. Fantastic band.

 

A couple of good distractions for me today:
- building a Guardians of the Galaxy 2 Lego set I got for my birthday. It took extra time with a 3 year old and a 1 year old helping, but it was also more fun that way. Oh and it was the Milano.
- raking leaves with the wife and kids was also great.

 

The new Julien Baker album is something special. It was particularly cold today so I grabbed a coffee and went for a walk while listening. Amazing stuff, need to check out her previous releases asap

 

I had the same thought. My AOTY list is basically cancelled.

 

Phoebe Bridgers just released a fantastic album too.

 

People need to listen to the Phoebe Bridget’s album, one of the best things this year by far

I have a feeling there won't be a statement until after the weekend. I honestly won't be too surprised if there isn't one at all.

 

I only go to the gym so I can browse Chorus uninterrupted ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

 

I haven't been able to catch them live, unfortunately. Their audiotree performance is rad though. Convinces me I have to see them live whenever I get the chance.

 

Backed so damn hard. My favorite as well. That whole set omg.

 

I was thinking about it a bit today and if I were to release an AOTY list, I wouldn't include it, but there would be a disclaimer at the end or something expressing how I deeply feel for the album and how I cannot in good conscious give it the title of my favorite album of the year when the circumstances around the band have surfaced. I talk about music a lot in my social media accounts as a way to introduce people to what I like to listen to, a recommendation of sorts, and to leave it on a numerical spot on the list would feel like I'm inviting new listeners to the world of a pedophile. It's one thing to feel distraught through the investment of the band and feeling uneasy/unsure but I don't ever want to introduce someone to BN ever again.

 

I think it would not be genuine to ignore this on my AOTY lists. But I would probably put it sixth now.
