yeah i dont think anybody in this thread has taken the side of Jesse Lacey apologist. well i mean, one did but he is gone now.

 

oh I meant in general with Brand New fans, I would hope most of this site is pretty decent when it comes to stuff like this and the site usually is.

yeah I don't think folks on this site (for the most part) have any trouble holding artists accountable. But hoo boy, just wait and see how many twitter/facebook/reddit people eat up even the shittiest statement from the band's/jesse's camp

 

I'm getting pretty damn impatient over a statement right now. There's no way this hasn't reached the band.

 

I'm doing laundry right now and you really don't realize how many band shirts you have until this kind of stuff comes up. I don't even know what I want to do with them. There's even a shirt I just bought from them from their latest tour that I only wore once and as a college kid who pays for his own stuff it feels like I'm burning my own pocket if I stop wearing them. One shirt was a gift from my girlfriend for my birthday that I've only worn a handful of times. Fuck.

 

oh, there is no way in hellllllll the band doesnt know about this right now. guaranteed they have shit their pants 234245 times over by now.

 

The right answer is not to do anything drastic. Put them in a box in the back of your closet, and once you’ve had time to process the situation and come up with a plan you are comfortable with, act then.

 

Ok question because I basically just found out about this 20 minutes ago: it says it started when he was 24, is there any news about how long it went? I'm trying to peg album periods and stuff with this.

 

I think I'm going to still wear them for now under the acceptance that 1) I can't afford to take a huge chunk of my wardrobe out and replace them right away right now financially 2) the colder weathers are approaching so theyll be nothing more than just fabric covered by layers of more fabric (hopefully)

I should know better than to judge the characters of people I've had very little conversation with on there public appearance, but I think/HOPE we'll get astatement from Kevin Devine and Andy Hull (if not M.O. as a whole) because I WANT to believe there's no way they would associate themselves with Jesse knowing about this.
