Mercenaries would have been a good blink song

The two demos for the Wolfpack are much better in my opinion than the song.

I still hate Paralyzed a lot. I never got into that one.

    Sleekest of beaks. So Good.

    That classic Neverpants Ranch production!

I genuinely enjoy about half of it which is more than I can say for the rest of the AvA discography haha.

It's a bummer listening to the "making of" videos on YouTube because a lot of those parts actually sounded pretty damn cool on their own. When they got thrown into the whole mix, it all turned to mud.

The most frustrating thing about the production is that apparently thats what they were going for. They say at one point in that short documentary that they wanted it to sound like it was coming straight out of the garage.
The Chasing Shadows EP was recorded at the same studio with the same engineer and sounds 1000x better.

Another positive about the Chasing Shadows EP is the extremely relatable lyrics about wicker baskets.Really hoping for more of those on the "strange times music album"

It's very possible that's true. Once the issues with putting the album on Modlife happened Tom, in his own words from his FB post when Bored to Death came out really checked out from the band.

That AVA EP did release at the same time, it was the crappy Stomping the Phantom Pedal EP. He claims he didn't even know that was the same date and even told Mark and Travis about it and they said it was fine. It really wasn't much of an EP from what I remember it was only 3 new songs, two of which were just instrumentals. The other 6 songs were remixes done by Ilan from the Love album. I think I remember reading Tom went to Mark and Travis and claimed he didn't know both EPs were being released on the same date and offered to pull the AVA one but Mark and Travis said it was fine.

I thought it was a lot bigger of a deal than that because during this last "breakup", Tom made a big fuss about having to pull it down because the guys were mad about it or something haha. Who really knows anymore, honestly. Even with no context, I just thought "He would do something like that..."

I mean you could be right because it was years ago but I remember don't remember it being too big of a deal. It was basically an EP of Rubin doing remixes of songs they already released. But yeah it absolutely be something he would do to cash in on the blink name.

No big deal seeing as no one gave one crap about Stomping the Phantom Gas Pedal

I remember Neighborhoods leaking on the day i broke my foot at work. Working at a clothing store was MAD dangerous back in the old days of 2011.

To this day that record cripples me. with disappointment

"Then, the EP was the test. Months later, we’re recording those songs. I was in the studio for two months and they came in for around 11 days. I didn’t mind leading the charge, but we had all agreed to give it 100%. And this time- no baggage.

Despite that, we still somehow managed to self-sabotage.

At one point, squabbling and politics forced me to pull the EP down at a time when 60,000 fans were trying to purchase it. And that blew my mind. I’d been trying so hard but that moment ultimately broke my spirit. I then realized that this band couldn't lose the years of ill will."

Not saying that anyone felt it was a big deal, but obviously HE did lol

I was always confused by the "pull the EP down at a time 60,000 fans were trying to purchase it" part. I don't think that ever happened?

I seem to recall the DED preorders going up, being yanked within an hour or two, and then going back up a day or two later.

Kind of what I assumed, too.

My point was that I couldn't imagine any other band having a member that releases an EP with a side project on the same day, accidentally or intentionally. haha.

I think Tom wanted Modlife to be the only place to get DED but Mark and Travis said no to that idea and Tom got pissy.

Its ridiculous how Tom didn't see that as a problem. You're one of the biggest bands in the world about to release new material and you only want to sell it on a website that 90% of your fans had never heard of.

He would make more money off it that way since he owned Modlife. That was clearly why.
