Here's my hot take besides the sometimes trite lyrics That's the Spirit by BMTH is some damn fine alt rock.

 

Someone at the gym i was at today called Brand New a hipster band for hipsters only. Only one of us left the gym alive.

 

Damn. They messed with the wrong Brand New fan.

 

You’d think the guy in battle armor would be the one you avoided pissing off.

 

Lol. They're leaving out the legions of frat bros at all of their shows yelling for Seventy Times Seven.

 

Very underrated band in general imo. I think if a lot of those songs came out under a different name they’d get a lot of praise around here.

 

Ugh, you painted this scholastic memory too well...bad times. Even worse times, coming down from the excessive adderall use that kept us going. Hang in there, grades matter a whole lot less in the real world when compared to the skill of applying your conceptual knowledge properly and creatively to goals.

Every semester I hit this wall and I’m like, “I should just quit school and play music or something” lol. I do it to myself though, I have such bad study habits

 

School sucked man

 

Actually college was dope after I transferred and changed my major to something I liked. Then I basically just spent 20 hours a week at the studio, more like 40 the semester I was chief engineer

 

ATAL did it better.

 

The worst is I always thought "wow at least after school I won't have homework or stuff to do after work". Wrong! (at least for my job)

 

I plan on being a teacher lol

 

BMTH kicks ass. If that's a hot take, then I don't want to be cold.

my girlfriend is a teacher. boy do we go on a lot of holidays. it's chill as hell.

 

I have never listened to BMTH. Should I?

If so, before or after Chon?

Also, is Chon different from Shone? Are they pronounced differently?

 

That’s definitely a benefit. Once I’m done here I plan on teaching English as a second language in Japan, acquiring a Masters, and hopefully teach English Literature at a university over there. At least, that’s the tentative plan.

I meant those as two separate thoughts haha Jason earlier was saying Blake was lying about his age, so I was just containing all my blakebeats comments to one post.

Agreed, the only person I would let off the hook for saying something like that would have to be like under 16, because honestly I'm sure I know I said similar ignorant things.

Yea listen to BMTH. But it's coolest to listen in order to hear their evolution. I'd say start with songs in this order: Count Your Blessings, Chelsea Smile, Diamonds Aren't Forever (Just to get a sense for their earilier "hits"), then listen to the full albums There Is A Hell, Believe Me I've Seen It. There Is A Heaven, Let's Keep It A Secret (my favorite), Sempiternal, and then their newest album (That's the Spirit).

Or just listen to whatever you want I don't care.
