I've been around rock music my whole life but started branching out / listening to music outside of my dad's collection or the radio when I was 12. You can't imagine how fucking cool and essential Hayley Williams was (and still is) to me at that time. A GIRL singing in a band?! A woman so successful? I started singing because of Hayley, my passion for music truly ignited when I found Paramore. Women in rock music are important and badass

Yea exactly. Like I feel bad until I realize he really is a very problematic person who deserves to be roasted.

And I truthfully do believe he really is 24.

 

Beyond the fact that it's hella sexist and plain ridiculous, thinking that women should "stay out of rock music" means that you're depriving yourself of a lot of really good rock music, and that's just sad honestly.

 

That's awesome! Congratulations. And just a side note: Matt is a great name, and is more easily adaptable to be a name for a boy or girl than you may originally think (Matilda, Mattea, or I'd even take Madeline).

 

Yeah age has nothing to do with it. There are plenty of shitty 50+ year olds who think the exact same way he does on the topic of women in music.

 

Evanescence and The Cranberries were huge for me as well. It's soooo important to make a conscious effort to listen to women in music - bands or solo artists. So much incredible music and stories to hear!

 

I keep browsing waiting to see YFW is still BN's best album hands down.
