What's Tom's best bridge in a blink song?

 

One of my personal favorites, the one that comes to mind first, is the bridge on "Snake Charmer" surprisingly. It's my favorite moment of Neighborhoods. That chord change at 2:47 just gets me every time.

 

In fact, I think it'd be fun/interesting to for us all to listen to Neighborhoods at the same time and do a "live commentary" on the whole album. I'm always fast to say it's my least favorite record of theirs, but whenever I return to it, I remember everything I actually like about it. Since it's been out for so long now, it would be fun to revisit it and discuss it with some of you. Thoughts?!

 

I may be mistaken but didn't we do that awhile back on some site? It was fun though so I vote yay.

 

We probably did! But I don't remember what side we used to do it. There aren't any good live stream/hangout kinda sites that I've been able to find.

 

Neighborhoods definitely holds a special place in my heart. The dudes were finally back together releasing new music. I was beginning senior year of college. Good feels all around. Definitely not "great" work but it was good for what blink was at the time. If they had been in the same room most of the time, it could've been great.

That being said, I hold it on par with Cali/DLX. They sit in this little pit right above Cheshire and under TOYPAJ in my rankings.

 

Neighborhoods has a special place in a category I like to call, “shitty albums”.

 

How they change things up and throw in some “la’s” and maybe some “oh’s”.

 

Neighborhoods is bad as a front-to-back album but it has quite a few of my favorite blink songs and I view it more favorably than California

Yeah I love the bridge in that song, I think it saves the song to be honest with you.

For whatever reason I can't think of any good Tom bridges off the top of my head. He had to have written some other ones right?

 

I may view Caifornia more favorably but i agree with your sentiment about neighborhoods

But he isn't doing both! So he needs to either do both or just Alkaline haha

 

I mean, ive said it before and ill say it again:

Dude is a free man, Mark and Travis arent holding a gun to his head. He will work on what he wants to work on, whether thats blink or alkaline.

 

Also now have the mental image of mark being like “Get the hell in the studio now!” And waving around a gun like scarface haha
