Doing a discog run. Going from Sunsetting > I'll Get By > Hiding > Ripple Water Shine is like watching the band grow up before your eyes.

 

Totally, that’s where I hear it too. I also think that’s the catchiest moment of the song.

 

Haha yeah! I couldn’t pinpoint it but this is definitely what it reminds me of haha

I think I’m going to hold off on preordering for right now. “Charisma” just isn’t doing it for me.

 

Bummed with the lack of vinyl variants. Clear and black only :/

 

The new Prawn is terrible :( I listened to it like 3 times and literally nothing stuck out.

 

What a missed opportunity to do a sweet gold variant with this record.

I agree. It’s definitely an album you throw on in the background while you clean or organize. Nothing much beyond that for me.

 

There is a UK(/EU?) variant that is Clear w/Gold & Black Splatter

 

Wow, I really like "Charisma." Keep You is a record that never completely clicked with me but I love the energy in this track.

 

I don’t think it’s terrible. But I really dislike a lot of the vocal work compared to the last album. Such a bummer

 

dang, might have to pick that up. Epitaph kind of sucks with vinyl tbh.

 

So the picture they tweeted shows a gold LP but I don't see it. No #'s on the gold/black splatter either...hmmmm

 

I just think they're a band that could've used more polish, not less. Especially vocals. The MovMou split was awesome, and I wish that the new stuff would've built on that.

Euro variant is clear with black and gold splatter. Happy birthday to me

 

Charisma sounds super "Yip-ed". Good song, but feels pretty stagnant. He's been on a streak with Menzingers and Circa, but man, not loving how this sounds just yet.

 

Committed to the Clear w/Gold and Black Splatter, although the Epitaph /1000 clear did look mighty tempting... (despite import postage charges)

 

This song is great.

 

It’s kind of funny if you look at the beginning of the wave the best bands out of the 4 at the beginning(Touché Amore, La Dispute, Pianos Become The Teeth, and Make Do and Mend) Make Do and Mend and Touche’s early material were very very easily the best, but with each subsequent album all of those other bands have completely outclassed Make Do and Mend in every concievable way. With Pianos and La Dispute showing the most obvious and starkest improvements.

Touche has gotten better more gradually but they had a much higher starting point and still has greatly improved on that


PS: I forgot Defeater but they also had a higher starting point and stagnated like a Make Do And Mend, though I like their last record still
