Aw man Halloween H20 was underwhelming. It was a fine slasher, but I was expecting something more meta or progrssive, I think. If four, five, six and eight (which I haven’t seen) are significantly worse then wow

Depends on what you're looking for. I would say 4 is alright, but the mask looks like shit and some of the acting is terrible. I don't hate where they went with the story, but then 5 and 6 kind of don't make sense/aren't logical at all. It is pretty cool to see Paul Rudd taking on Michael Myers though. My preference for them is 1, 2, 4, 6, H20, Resurrection, 5, 3.

The Rombie films don't exist in my head, they're terrible.

I'm watching the first paranormal activity which I haven't rly seen since it came out and I don't remember any of it. I remember the Ouija board catching fire and her screaming miiiiicaaaaahhhh but the scenes and actors don't even look familiar at all. I even checked the info again to make sure it was the actual movie and not a knock off or parody or something. most of the movies do blur together for me tho. I think I liked 3 and the marked ones.

I remember being in the eighth grade and some friends and I were hanging out in my basement and someone brought up Paranormal Activity and none of us had heard of it and I feel you Blair Witch audience of 99 because this dude was telling us about this new movie that was the scariest thing ever released to theatres and he said it was real af and we were sh00k. I went on the computer that night and found the truth but it was a wild couple of hours

Fair, but I don't think Halloween is a series that really aims for "meta". I really like H20, obviously not as good as the first two, but I treat it as a trilogy with 1, 2, H20 and enjoy it all that way. The rest don't exist to me haha. although I enjoy 3, but that's not Michael myers. would've been interesting to see where the series would've gone if they went with the anthology plan.

Internet ruins everything damn it. I can't imagine how many kids have googled "Santa Clause Wiki."

Those are okay, but whatever that site is that somebody linked to a few pages back was the most legit collection of horror tees i've come across. Ordered two that night.

It definitely fit the series, but I had just heard recently how well H20 was received by a few people I respect and I figured with Williamson's involvement it would be more "Scream" and less "The Faculty." I still liked it though, I just went into it wrong

The issue I had with H20 was that they didn't make Michael scary at all. He's very much just doing his stare thing and walking into frame almost too much. He's always two seconds too late, getting stabbed, getting blindsided with an extinguisher, etc etc.

I think what some of the other sequels that this one ignored got right was how methodical Michael was in the first two movies. You didn't see him or catch him off guard, it was generally always the other way around. But their stories sucked and so did their actors for the most part. I'm very hopeful next year's take knocks it out of the park. Danny McBride seems to have a lot of respect and taste when it comes to horror, so I'm excited.

Also, a friend of mine once made the comparison of Dr. Loomis sounding like Mermaid Man just walking around screaming about evil, and I can't unsee it now.

    Anybody watch Mayhem yet?

  21. Did anyone see Wish Upon? I grabbed a copy of it from work and haven't watched it yet. I know it got pretty trash reviews, but I was hoping it might at least be campy teen-horror fun

I was hoping the same. Wasn’t into it at all. I watched it by myself and I tend to enjoy those kinds of movies more when I’m with someone, but I don’t think it’s bad in ways that make it fun. It’s just really bad

It's a Shudder exclusive but leaked before it made it to Shudder. Was at Fantasia Fest and is sitting in the high 80s on RT I'm pretty sure. Stylish and actually hilarious, just getting to the bloodbath now. Will report back but this is already the most fun I've had with a movie in a while. Like if The Raid was a B comedy.
