Mushroom Kingdom made me want to shed tears holy shit

 

I think Rayman Legends is out on Switch too and if you haven't played that and like platformers it's a must buy.

 

I just got to the moon kingdom and I have 225 power moons. Can’t believe I’ve missed over 700 along the way.

 

That’s not quite how it works.

I’m not spoiling it though.

 

Some other degenerates have probably already done this but just in case

 

God, this is so fun and addicting. Even though I beat it fairly quick, can’t wait to keep playing / exploring / collecting moons.

 

Only part of the game I can’t figure out is the 2D tube challenge in Mushroom Kingdom where the black background slides left to right. When you get to the far right and go up, I get stuck and can’t figure out how to get any higher. The last block closest to the next level is too far of a jump?

 

If you dash, you can run right across the blocks that are gapped, zig zag to the top and then time the last couple jumps. Took me a while to figure that out

 

That 2D level was such a pain in the ass, ha. I could get to the upper area without issue, but I died so many times on the circles with rotating safe areas because my brain would break on the left/right edges and I couldn’t get Mario to go the correct way.

 

The Darker Side of the Moon level was so infuriatingly great. Really reminded me of the Bowser levels in 64

 

There's some really phenomenal stuff in the post-game moons that unlock from the moon rock. Not that I didn't expect that with how excellent the rest of the game is, but I love that I'm hundreds of moons in and the game still keeps pleasantly surprising me. Might have only been out a week but this is very, very easily my GOTY and there is zero chance it will be topped.

 

Holy crap. Get me out of luncheon land.

 

I am only at luncheon land but I still like Zelda just a bit more. This is excellent though.

 

Yeah I don't think anything will take over BOTW for me for GOTY.

I’m having such a hard time with this, but I love it. I’ve probably put 3-4 hours in just trying to beat this

 

off to Bowser Kingdom I go, told myself I wouldn't go until I had 200 moons.

edit: just kidding, that was awesome

 

I will never take off the 64 outfit

 

I think Samurai Mario is my favorite.

 

I've been going back to different kingdoms out of order trying to get as many moons as I can before I want to change kingdoms. I'm at 476. I attempted the first post game challenge, didn't make it far. I've been getting a better grip on everything Mario can do in this game. Wow can he jump. In a lot of ways.

In other less spoilery news, really not looking forward to trying to get 100 jumps on the jump rope. Tried a bunch and even just getting about 30 would sent my heart racing and I'd screw up before 50. No idea how I'll actually get 100 =/
