Literally doing this right now too. Hah.

 

Trying to decide if I should get a 64 or 256 X. Currently have a 64 6. Any recommendations?

 

I’ve gone for the 64gb X. If I had my music collection still it would be a different story but with Apple Music and iCloud for storage I don’t think it’s needed? I checked mine and I still have 34gb left of space on my iPhone 6s.

 

I placed an order for store pickup today. We'll see if this works.

 

Depends how much space you have left on your 6. If you have a lot of space left, you should be good with the 64 X, but if your storage is almost full, you might be better with a 256. I'm presently using a 16Gb 6S, so I know I will be fine with 4 times the space.

 

I’m using roughly 34-35Gb of my storage now. Most of it are apps and photos.

 

I got the 64GB because I stream all of music now. That took up the majority of my storage space before.

 

Since I use Apple Music to stream and iCloud Photo Library for my photos and videos, I don't need much space.

The only downside I’m noticing with Face ID so far is that I wear glasses and set it up while I’m was wearing them, but when I’m not wearing them it has yet to recognize me. I wear my glasses 99% of the time but obviously when I first wake up and lounge around in before putting them on it won’t unlock without passcode. Just wish you could add another Face ID but I’m sure they have their reasons for not doing that

 

It should work through glasses so if you set it up without your glasses on it'll work both ways.

 

I ordered for store pick up at 6am this morning for a 10am pick up. I was the only person there who ordered online. I was in and out in 15 minutes. This thing is amazing. Face ID is insane, but also amazing. So glad I pulled the trigger on it.

 

I’m only running into issues with Face ID while lying in bed so far.

 

It’ll learn. It didn’t notice me without them on the first time. I used a passcode. Did it one more time. And then now it recognizes me on or off.

 

Yeah the half my face didn’t work. Hah.

 

It only works in portrait orientation

 

Yup I noticed this last night and this morning. Having my head buried in the pillow and glasses all wonky, what can I really expect though.

 

This phone feels straight out of the future for me. Upgraded from a 6 so I've never had 3D Touch (or force touch I forget what that's called on the phones??) before so even that feels insanely cool and new to me.
I do not regret this purchase at all.

So I'm slowly finding apps that aren't updated for the X, specifically my bank and credit card apps. Then I found my 401k/benefits app I use for work was never even updated for the 6 size screens and wow the keyboard is huge and the app is all kinds of messed up

 

Everyone gets Fox doing Blink-182.

 

My bank app is surprisingly less shitty now thanks to the speed of Face ID login. It will probably take a year for them to adjust the UI though.

 

I'd say it's a little bit of a downgrade in certain situations, the keyboard seems a bit smaller but overall I haven't been bothered by the screen size. I think the harder adjustment for me is getting used to the size of the physical phone. It is a lot smaller than the plus.
