Scream is my favorite slasher too. Not even close. 4 is awesome. Biggest problem I had was the super fake looking kick from Sidney that sent Ghostface flying lol

I love scream 4. i think each of the sequels achieves exactly what it's supposed in it's satire of horror and horror sequels.

When I put Scream on I feel like I'm meeting back up with old friends. Don't care if that seems weird. I love it and have for 20 years ha

It was just superbly cast, and really witty/self-aware. People hate on the third one, but I really love the series as a whole. Sydney Prescott is a bad ass mofo.

So I bought this bad boy at Wal Mart today for $7. It's a terrible pic but it's a shirt that is way too large for me so I'll have to tie off the bottom or something but oh well!

I don’t think I’ll ever get a chance to see a movie like Victor Crowley on the big screen again and I guess I’m grateful for that

I liked it a lot and it's pretty tense/suspenseful for clocking in at 1h14m runtime. The guy who plays Ivan is in another Spanish language movie I enjoyed, Atrocious. I suspect I'm the only person in here who liked that one though ha

Going to start Slasher season 2 tonight, I hope it's good.

I'll probably enjoy it anyway because slashers are life.

Gerald's Game was decently taut. trying to decide how I think of its use of sexual abuse as a storyline, much like another recent film ( Split)... i had one friend who has that in her history and she found it empowering in the latter film, but it usually makes me uneasy because - i dunno - it always seems to be handled very neatly. not with a lack of respect, just a little reductive.

anyway, otherwise, that's a third pretty good movie that I've seen of Flanagan's that also features a female lead who handles her shit (Hush, Oculus). that's pretty cool, although i wonder if it won't feel formulaic before long. they've all been smart, but a little too certain of their intelligence - like, in that way where you *know* everything is going to be important at some point. it reduces some of the tension, i think, because it all feels very coordinated and sometimes obvious. still... pretty good. didn't really think the tall dude was a necessary inclusion; it was just distracting and oddly paced. also, isn't her line "you were so much bigger in the dark" or whatever straight out of green room?

Part of it might be the difficulty of adapting a story written 25 years ago to fit the technology of today. Looking at you, iPhone on the side table.

One film that gets shit a lot (I think) that I love is Book of Shadows: Blair Witch 2. Love how it's not just the first film again which could have been an easy cash grab. Love how meta it is in playing with the hype of the first one and it not being real and then having shit happen. Love the director commentary who bashes the studio for destroying his film in post production.

Another weak ending for horror, but I recently re-watched this and had a couple good laughs/creepy moments. My girlfriend hated it.

I started watching The Black Room because I saw Lin Shaye's name. I was not prepared for this movie lolol

  19. Just finished Scream 4. Dumb ending, but it was an entertaining movie. Still not anywhere as great as the original.

Scream was on TV so I watched it and this movie truth or dare played next and the haunted house like forces them to play. One guy had to burn his hand on the stove and then this other girl had to eat the burnt flesh off the stove and she was freaking out but honestly if I had to choose between burning my hand or eating the flesh I'd just eat it like it wouldn't be that hard??? She's a vegan but like one guy had to smash his knee in with a bat and the other had to get electrocuted like u can eat some hand skin.

    This movie is awful lol

    Finally saw Split. Loved it.

M Night is such an odd person. Strange he can churn out this, and The Visit. Yet also put out The Happening, and After Earth.

I’m really hopeful for his horror movies.
