Typically the MLS sub is a great place, though. That's why it's frustrating to see it devolve into what r/soccer is notorious for.

There's not a single fan in Houston that takes pride in a beat up pitch or empty seats.

 

The people who flip out over empty seats annoy me to no end. Like, what do you want these teams to do? It's the night before Halloween/It's Halloween, people are gonna be doing Halloween shit

 

They had 3 days to sell tickets. Sunday night our baseball team played in one of the greatest World Series games ever, a game that ended at like 1am, and left me as emotionally drained as I've ever been as a sports fan.

Making it downtown for an 8:30 kickoff last night wasn't gonna be in the cards for a lot of people. We have jobs that we can't ALWAYS be sleep deprived for. I wish we had a fan base that was rain or shine, sleep or no sleep, but we don't. Tough shit.

 

Like I can't stress how little our city gives a fuck about anything but the Astros right now. It doesn't shock me a bit to see empty seats at a soccer game, that's the reality of the sport in most markets unfortunately.

 

Fuck me that keeper is cursed! Another classic against him.

very very disappointed not to get at least a draw tonight, two defensive errors and that's it. tierney and mcgregor are absolute gems.

Reading everything about what went on at the Crew game tonight makes me hope they win MLS cup

 

The news were saying he had another howler this morning. Then they showed the replay. So, he went for a save and the ball bounced off the post, off his back and in. Surely nobody really blames the keeper for that?

Also, he saved a bloody penalty earlier on!

 

Idk about the media but no United fan I've seen is blaming him. More lamenting his terrible luck. It was crazy. An inch to the right and it bounces clear.

 

I doubt any football fan would really blame him. Just wasn't what I expected at all from the way the news team were talking about it. I was anticipating something really remedial from the Rob Green school of goalkeeping.

 

Nah he was great last night bar that and I mean that's not even a notch against him. Only real downside I saw last night is he needs work on his kicking. But most young keepers need that. Looks a prospect.
