Why the hell would the Eagles be interested in Frank Gore ?

 

Jags had a Defensive Line meeting at my job today.

Campbell, Yannick, Malik, Fowler, Dareus, Abry Jones, Sheldon Day, Michael Bennett plus a few others (Smoot was probably there, don't know his face yet.)

Goddamn Campbell is enormous. And his crazy deep voice in person is every bit as great, haha. Got an authentic "thank you my man" when I dropped his appetizer off lol, it's weird to already know what he sounds like (because of NFL top 100 / sound FX & wired), but then still be surprised actually hearing all that bass punch you in the ears lol.

Definitely gave me a sense of pride seeing our best position group walk in the door. I've had Jags come into work multiple times but its usually not the famous / super talented ones, except the time Telvin Smith came in. I was slightly star struck this time considering I was in a room with two of the best D Linemen in the NFL (both being new additions to the team).

 

Because he's a damn good blocker/another very good piece to help protect Carson.

When your best pass protecting RB is Wendell Smallwood, testing the market out for one makes sense here.

It sounds like the price dropped recently because the Pats realized Brady really is going to play well into his 40s.

 

This is true, why not. I'm all for adding another veteran anyway.

 

If this happens, it'll cost nothing more than a late rounder and if it helps keep Carson upright and have more time to throw, it's a no brainer.

Given the state of the NFC right now (Rodgers out, Zeke suspended)....this is the time to go for it and I hope they make a move or two tomorrow. Stars are aligning to give them their best shot in a long time....need to go for it. Draft be damned.

Even more supporting of a Gore trade is that while Zach Ertz has improved in his pass blocking from a year ago, he's still pretty awful at it so by adding a guy like Gore, allows you to not have to take Ertz out in favor of Celek (better blocker) or keeping both TE on the field and taking a guy like Nelson off the field.

Makes a ton of sense. Allows you to keep all of the downfield threats on the field while having a great blocker in the backfield.

 

Who would have thought we'd be talking about the Eagles making some type of major push this far in the season. Fuck I hope they don't break my heart.

 

Just take Ivory instead
