That's a good point that I've never thought of. Since you can just go right onto the next, there are no cliff hangers unless you switch gears before coming back to it. It makes the placement of episode 7 make much more sense but it still doesn't change my opinion on the content and fears of the shows future direction. Either way, kudos for a new logical way of looking at the pacing of stream able shows.

The core group of kids has no powers and exactly 6% of the show (one episode out of 17) hasn't focused on them. Why are people afraid of the direction of the show?

I really have no idea where they go next with the show but I completely trust them to not screw it up.

Episode 7 breaking up anticipation is fine by me. The characters were such cliches though-- that's what killed it for me. Dude with the excessive mohawk killed it for me. A huge dude named Funshine that people describe as a "teddy bear." It felt like I was watching Teen Titans or something.

Yeah I have no problem with them trying to expand the universe or changing up the formula.

Just thought it was poorly handled in almost every way possible.

Characters were lame. Acting wasn’t very good. Arc for eleven was predictable. Training sequence was stolen from First Class.

Do they talk about this episode on the Beyond Stanger Things show?

This show has a lot of 80's tropes. I was telling the person who I was watching episode 7 with (she hated it as well), that this gave me a Lost Boys vibe. But my issue with the episode, was just how out of place it felt. Just sense killings, the angsty 'f the word' group, etc. It all just came out of nowhere and kind of ruined it for me. You have this 'deep' show, with tremendous child actors that are all struggling, when introduced to these bandits, it's just lazy and kind of annoying. I much preferred the stereotypes that Steve's old friends played in S1, and even the new guy, then this group

I think I need this soundtrack on vinyl.

Did SURVIVE put out an EP or anything for season 2?

Oh yeah, and the soundtrack this season is awesome, not the score, but the soundtrack. It's funny how hard they went with the 80's thing. How many times do they should the Bush Reagan sign?

This. If Episode 7 was my least favorite episode, I actually loved its placement. It gave viewers a break before the show pretty much went into outright horror mode. If they'd done that before or after the tonal shift, it really wouldn't have worked.

There are preorders for the soundtrack but not the score yet. Follow Lakeshore Records as they are going to be releasing info on that soon.

Mike was such an amazing friend to Will this season. Yes he was depressed and a little angsty/sad about Eleven but he was by Will's side the whole time. I'm excited to see what he'll get up to next now that Eleven is back!

Yeah they're pretty good. They explain a lot of subtle foreshadowing and symbolic things they did that I didn't notice (although I am an idiot).

One of my favorite shots of the whole season was that brief shot of him covering his ears in the hospital while Will was in full-on Exorcism mode. They didn't water down the trauma of the situation and for Mike to be right there for the whole ordeal really shows his maturity and what a terrific friend he is.

Sean Astin being in that tunnel was such an unashamed reference to both Goonies and LOTR and I loved it.

  18. Knocked this out Fri night + Sat. Loved it. I'd put it on par with S1.

The new characters are all great. Billy is the absolute worst. He's good as the human antagonist. Ep 7 was fine, but it seemed like an excuse for the showrunners to explore different settings and characters, which made it feel like a different show.

There were plenty of highlights, but these are the first two that come to mind. The shot at the end of ep5 was legitimately unnerving, and that argument between Hopper and Eleven along with the psychic tantrum was so intense and great.

Glad someone else mentioned this. It's a WTF moment on a visual level, but being invested in Will and actually thinking he might be dying in that moment added a lot of emotional heft to it too. Really brilliant moment. Honestly disturbed me more than anything in It.

Loved this season even more than the first but did they really even acknowledge the sibling dynamic between Mike & Nancy this season? I feel like there could've been some dramatic weight there but the relationship between Will & Jonathan sort of stole that spotlight.

I feel like Nancy had less to do, she was so integral to the end of last season and she kind of got overshadowed by Joyce near the end

Plus, we still end up with the same amount of episodes dedicated to the main story as last year. We had an extra ep this year, making room for episode 7
