I’m kinda in the same boat

    yeah good okay Prestigious

I feel like this will make or break most people's opinions on the season.

  3. The hype of coming out of nowhere vs hype of expectations. I’m really enjoying it so far. The “I gotta tell people I don’t like thing that’s popular” twitter I don’t enjoy.

Lol, can you imagine finally landing after being on a flight from the UK and then getting sent back the same day?? Hahah, that sucks

Finished! Loved it, except for the useless Episode 7. Noah Schnapp was fucking incredible the whole season, Winona was fantastic as well the last couple episodes. Other highlights include

Bob (RIP, Sean Astin is god) Max (Way better than some standard new tag-a-long buddy, though I hope they expand her role some more next time)and Steve (Steve).

On episode 4 right now, but this show is so visually stunning. Constantly in awe of the visuals in this show

7 has its purpose. Though, it probably could have been half an episode instead.

    Some random thoughts

I enjoyed it overall, but the first season was a lot better, IMO.

The show felt it’s length a bit more this season. They probably could have cut it a bit tighter and kept this to 8 episodes. Despite only having generally 3 stories going on at one time, they would spend a lot of time on only one or two at a time and they would finally get back to the third and I would be like “oh yes, this was going on as well, it feels like forever ago”. And I watched this literally straight through with only one 20 minute break.

Episode 7.... a lot of people are going to shit on it, and I get it. But I liked meeting Kali and having her show Jane how strong she could be. Kinda reminded me of the end of X-men First class, but here she taps into her pain to get her strength. She had to get some “training” to prepare her to close the gate. I suspect if Papa is alive, it is setting stuff up for next season. As well as potentially having more kids out there somewhere.

The conspiracy guy was weird. “Hey high schoolers, take my guest room and fuck!” So creepy. But the pull out line was both hilarious and painful.

Didn’t like how dumb Dustin was with all the Dart stuff. He seemed to be the most with it last season and he made a lot of bad choices here. In fact, literally everyone but Joyce was so dumb in their decision making. Joyce was a badass this year. Nice to see they didn’t focus on the hysterics that could have come and kept her focused and on point.

Guess the Mind Flayer will be the big bad ongoing. Kind of nice he doesn’t get killed and will be most likely planning a comeback.

I kind of liked depressed Mike. But I do wish he would have had a bit more to do. He definitely faded into the backward for large chunks of time or was just sitting around.

I like what we got with Max. Nice to bring in a new character, interested to see what they do with her next year.

I love that we got to see some more of the kids families. Lucas’ sister was golden haha

Okay, as someone who really became a fan of Steve on my recent rewatch, I feel bad that he kind of kept getting the shit end of stick. Feels like he won’t get accepted into college. Nancy didn’t genuinely care the same way that he felt about her. He became the babysitter. But honestly, I loved all of it. Steve works so incredibly well with the kids. And he got the shit kicked out of him again. Poor Steve. But he had a lot of great lines and shining moments with his bat haha!

I honestly would have never guessed they would have Eleven and Hopper pair up and do their storyline. But I totally get it. They don’t really touch on it beyond him telling Eleven about her at the end, but beyond keeping her safe he was totally attempting to recreate his life with his daughter with that whole storyline.

Eleven wasn’t given a ton to do with our core group. I get keeping her away for awhile made sense, but man they took their time. Eleven trying to become notmal is interesting. But not terribly exciting. I do kind of like the Eleven/Mike stuff, but there was very little of it. Seeing her reunite with her mom was good stuff, but I feel like that is over and I was hoping for a bit more. Although, I don’t know what else they could go with a basically comatose mother who repeats the same 5 things.

Didn’t really care for Bob. Kind of funny how his end was super similar to his end on 24.

I did enjoy that Hawkins was a little more open and more on their side this season.

Fuck Billy. Demo dogs should have taken him out.

I’m site I’ll have more thoughts, but this is what’s coming out at 1am after watching it all in one sitting.

on ep. 4. Still loving this show, good on them for making Billy the worst character to ever exist across any medium

edit: alternatively, mad Max is the best

Watched the first episode of this new season. I found it enjoyable and interesting. I was kind of anticipating not liking it as much and being letdown... but I'm intrigued so far.

My only complaint. Episode 1 spoiler: The KFC plug at Barb's family's dinner table was so cringe-worthy.

Episode 6: that scene in the junkyard where the other demigorgons start popping up legitimately terrified me. Aside from some of the jump scares in It, that might have been the flat out scariest thing I've seen all year

I wouldn’t call it terrible, but in this show of serialization and so few episodes, it’s a huge bummer. It’s terrible in context
