I get the feeling some people take it a little too seriously when other people state opinion as fact, which is just imo the default mode for discussions online

I’m surprised mine isn’t worse after I got a concussion. It definitely got worse but I still have a decent memory

 

I get that, and yeah it's hard to interpret online. It's good that you're aware of that though especially since so often people aren't aware that it can come across that way and just continue making people feel bad or something, I don't know. I'm trying to do better about it myself

I'm gonna ask a dumb question in this thread because I'm terrified to ask it in a more relevant thread

Why do so many people stream themselves playing video games? Like, are there really enough people paying attention to that to stream? What makes someone wake up and be like "I'm gonna stream me playing this"? Not to say it's a bad thing that they do but I just wanna know the motivation and what streamers bring to the table

 

esports and stremaing is just dumb as fuck.

eSports makes NO SENSE.

Pewdiepie has eleventy billion dollars so clearly it works, I don't get it, I don't want to watch people play video games, I don't want to here talk for 10 minutes about a song I don't want any Youtube thing

 

I miss old Let’s Plays, just play the game and don’t say anything. I don’t need your “witty” commentary about something you think is funny in the game.

 

I ask myself the same thing all the time. Especially the ones that show just the video game they're playing but the only thing they talk about is youtube drama..it's the weirdest combo ever to me. Some people do enjoy watching others play video games IRL bc the graphics are so good. Might have something to do with it but idk.

Besides people who have a built in audience (YouTubers and junk), I guess maybe some people like to watch their friends stream? Idk I never got it either

Idk why it's so weird but the last 5 years I just read about games and don't really hardly ever play them. And I really enjoy the idea of vgames. Idk it's fucking bizarre. It's an extension of that. Can't fully explain it. I watch a stream maybe once or twice a month.

Maybe it's also that growing up my friends and I would sit next to eachother and play games and that was integral to the fun experiencing it with someone else and getting that persons reaction or riffing on the experience.

 

I get having lets plays to watch gameplay to see if the game looks fun, but to sit there are watch commentators over COD or Rocket League or whatever the fuck. Absolutely NOT!

It's not that bizarre, I'm with you. I don't really like playing video games but a lot of times I love the stories so it's fun watching someone else play.

But yeah I definitely just wanna watch the game itself, not some random person talking.

 

It's weird because from the viewer's perspective I completely get it. I just don't understand it from the streamer's perspective, like what motivated them to decide one day they were gonna stream
