Those tours made more sense. This current tour lineup feels like they picked trendier bands/ what was currently in with "the kids", rather quality bands.
I'm not saying AL and ADTR don't work hard or aren't successful, I'm just saying I think they are awful bands and not deserving of this tour. OPINION

Whether you like certain bands or not, it's really not cool to shit on them and say they don't deserve to open for blink. This is a great opportunity for them.

I don't like ATL but I would see them 100 times before Matt & Kim lol. I wouldn't mind MCR at all though. But I'll enjoy ADTR.

They picked bands that will largely appeal to their fans, that's really all there is.

    Things have changed.

How on Earth do those tours "make more sense"? You're just projecting this because you don't like the bands.

Can't even imagine what the shit talking would be like if Good Charlotte or 5 Seconds of Summer were on this tour.

using the word "real" as a descriptor is almost always not good criticism.

Not a single person has said anything about DJ Spider either. A DJ on a Blink tour, but the pop-punk bands are the ones getting destroyed. MAKES SENSE.

At least all the bands on this tour play "real" instruments haha

Don't recreate the scene, or reinvent the meanings Supporter

I am the first to admit I am not totally thrilled with the support. I don't care for ADTR or AAR much. I like some of the Rejects' hits ok and I have generally moved on from ATL. That said, I totally get why they were picked. If I had it my way the support would be totally different, but that is part of this tour's appeal. Blink doesn't need to bring the Descendants or some other "older" band. Blink has fans from a wide age range, but bringing successful bands like ADTR and such helps generate buzz for the younger teens now that may not be familiar with Blink. It's not my ideal scenario, but it totally makes sense.

The bottom line is not everything is made for you. Thousands of people are going to have a blast this summer! That should be something to celebrate. Even if you don't like those bands personally, as a blink fan you should be glad that they're relevant and happier than they've been in a long time. I don't even like ADTR but it's great that lots of people do and are stoked for the tour.

When All Time Low first came out, I couldn't stand them (I was the same way with FOB), but I've been a fan now ever since Nothing Personal. Music is good, but i've always cringed at how hard they tried to act like blink, which I can understand to some extent, given that they are catering to a new generation (F for originality though in the beginning.. They've gotten better). So I'm a bit interested to see them perform back to back, cause I always used to notice how similar the stage antics and banter was.

Ding ding ding, see everyone, this is the kind of post you make when you don't like the support.

  15. Are ATL, AAR, and ADTR even "in with the kids" anymore? All of them released their biggest albums like 5-10 years ago.

yeah. pretty much they're all adults like me in this office.

I think you're an awful fan and definitely undeserving of acquiring tickets to this tour.

But really, whether or not you're a fan of the opening acts --- ATL headlines sellout shows, ADTR's current tour sold out the Grand Rapids date in MI really quick... Taking Back Sunday + Citizen played that same venue in late 2015 and didn't sell it out.

The point I'm making is that whether you like them or not, these are bands that are extremely popular on their own, without blink, and with the three touring together (and AAR, cannot forget them!) it's shaping up to be one of the biggest summer tours out there. I'm not sure what bands you'd replace them with, but blink went out and got some pretty big names to take out on this tour. I'm personally really excited to finally get to see ADTR after finding a way to somehow not do it all these years, despite them continuously touring with bands I went to see live. I also haven't seen ATL, and I haven't seen blink since I was 8 years old soooo it's pretty exciting for me!

Yeah, their live show always was kind of a shameless rip off in that sense, but it's hard to really fault them for that. Plus, there are worse things to copy than making stupid dick and shit jokes all the time.

Exactly. It's perfectly ok to personally not like the support, but you don't shit all over them and literally say they're "trash" as if it's a fact. Lots of people like these bands, and I'm happy that a blink tour in 2016 has this much buzz around it.

With most pop-punk tours nowadays, I just assume I'm only going for the main act. I've never been so deep into to know many of the new bands, so I'm not going to complain when they bring someone I don't listen to on tour. I was planning on paying to go see blink before I knew the supporting acts, anyway. If I enjoy the bands that I sit through waiting for blink, that's cool.

Yeah, none of these bands are bands that I would skip out on. Solid performers with solid songs. Crazy that this will be the third time I've seen All-American Rejects. Hope they announce album info soon, though I wasn't too impressed with the single they released in October.

I don't know the Rejects as well in terms of fan base (I'd guess a little more mature than the other two if I had to), but I am pretty sure ATL and ADTR are doing very well still. ADTR is pretty much a gateway band for heavy music for kids today, whether it be hardcore or metalcore. ATL did extremely well with Future Hearts and has that female teen/early adult demographic solidified. These bands help bring in a good mix of younger fans for sure imo.

    Don't be a jabroni

I think they all have relatively big followings still to some degree, I would say ADTR may still be "in with the kids" but what the fuck do I know I'm getting closer to 30 everyday haha
