These bands they are touring with are trash. They are trying to pander to literal kids.
Remember Honda Civic Tour 2011 when blink toured with My Chem, Matt and Kim and on some dates, Rancid, H20 and Against Me?

Probably 12 or 13 songs. They've always managed to stuff plenty of songs into a setlist. They managed 13 songs when they supported Rise Against a while back. Even when they did Warped Tour in 2011 they got in 11 songs.

They're actually playing with bands they like, and mutually respect each other. People like them. You don't. Boo-hoo.

    THAT was good tour support.

Yeah because Blink was never marketed to kids and teenagers before.

I have no problem with them supporting younger bands, just GOOD ones. ADTR and ATL are for kids

You're killing me with this haha. Blink has always been marketed to a young demographic, not sure how you don't realize that. Beyond that, what's wrong with that strategy? You're just coming off arbitrarily bitter.

Not to mention, you basically responded with the exact same argument I was criticizing in the first place - "I don't like them so they must be objective trash" - so good job on that.

They are in their 40s and have toured with real bands as well. High school age kids, even though blink was before their time, generally like blink. I'm saying is, you don't need ATDR or ATL to attract that crowd.

Figured, glad I didn't wait and got my "Feeling This" one right away, those fuckers sold out in like 2 seconds haha

I'm not too big on the openers, already saw all american rejects open for them, seeing All Time Low with them at X-Games. not huge on A Day to Remember, though i'm still down to see them. Wish they would've brought less famous bands that they have close ties with. Paws, Prayers, Neck Deep would've all made sense. There's that kind of aspect that I miss about the DIY blink-era that i hope they bring back eventually after putting themselves out there again.

    Things have changed.

Maybe they're just touring with bands they like? Shocking stuff.

Somehow I thought these awful "opinions" wouldn't make it over to the new site. >:-(

Lol we're not going to start calling out bands as being "for kids" now, right? Like I don't need to post the lyrics to Give Me One Good Reason do I? You can not like the bands they're touring with, but those sorts of insults are weird.

This just in: eternally fun and youthful band brings out fun and youthful openers.

Also, AAR and A Day to Remember really aren't marketed towards "kids" anyway haha.

I understand. I've written about, covered and interviewed blink many times. And yeah, maybe I'm that jaded old dude who has been into them since they before the 182 was added, or maybe, I just don't like the current wave of awful, bro-y pop-punk bands.

So are they bro-y or are they for kids? Doesn't seem like there's a lot of overlap there.

Paws and Prayers would make sense. Neck Deep, no thanks.
Modern Baseball and Front Bottoms would be marketable too.

I mean, I'm not a fan of ADTR or ATL but come on, they've both been around for a while now so I think they at least deserve some respect.

Those aren't mutually exclusive things, you know that?

Today I learned that if young people like your music, you are not a "real band". Look you don't like A Day To Remember or All Time Low, which is fine, different strokes man. Not really sure why since they take a lot of cues and influence from Blink-182, but whatever. You could argue they don't do it as well, which I could maybe see. But saying its because their music appeals to children or is geared towards a younger demographic is some hypocritical bullshit if you like Blink-182. Mark and Tom have been writing songs about high school into their 30's and 40's.

Yep. All three supporting bands have sustained successful careers and it's weird to see them being shit on in the manner they are in this thread.

So are they bro-y or are they for kids? Doesn't seem like there's a lot of overlap there.

My favorite part is citing Matt and Kim and My Chemical Romance as "good" support while trashing ATL, AAR, and ADTR. Like, where's the line you're drawing?

Personal preference: I don't like ADTR and ATL.
I'm not saying those bands are necessarily marketed to that demographic, but that is their fan base.
And i'm sorry but the ATLs and ADTR can't hold a candle to the pop-punk bands when I was a kid (grampa here, I know)

ADTR isn't even a pop-punk band so there's that, and ATL hasn't really been in that scene for several album cycles now either. The "pop-punk" scene is bands like TWY (maybe even arguable), TSSF, Neck Deep, State Champs, etc. The goals are completely different between the two groups.
