That's one of the stupidest things I've ever seen. It's on par with erasing Hulk Hogan from the history books in the WWE. Or taking away a school's wins for violations.

Don't get me wrong, Schilling is a complete twat. But we can't just act like history didn't happen on the field.

Oh miles better than Schilling and Kruk. But the depth they analyze shit.. Drives me insane. Mendoza is likeable enough but her and Boone need to tell you the angle and position of every player's limb on every play. Like I believe that ESPN vetted you on your baseball knowledge before they gave you this job lol.

I think you're selling Maddon a few miles short if you think that he's just the "let's do goofy shit so everyone has fun and that'll make us win all the time" guy. He's one of the most thoughtful, analytical managers in the game, and the line ups he chooses on any given day reflect that. It's one thing to have huge talent, but it's another thing to utilize said talent to max potential. There's a reason the Cubs line up looks quite different every single game, and it's not because he's guessing.

One more thing- A +78 run differential so far this season isn't because we've got a bunch of Tony Gwynns on our team. It's because Maddon is having the team concentrate on patience and quality at bats. Any dipshit could easily tell Kris Bryant to go up there and hack away because he has power. But a good manager can guide a young player to be patient, take walks, and get on base. The whole team is showing that kind of discipline at the plate and that's why we average 6 runs with a mediocre .250 batting average.

Excellent point. I almost starting talking about Boz but I was kinda already rambling so ya know.

They were one of the most talented teams in the league that year.

The team was built around a bunch of players with good track records coming off bad seasons. The casual fan was caught off guard because they focused too much on those players previous season and not on their track records.

Dude. Did you not get his point? The beards are why they won. Not the talent.

Yo those numbers are fly AF. Mike Trout and Nyce Farter got nothin' on Conforto.

I mean Trout and Harper were also like three and four years younger than Conforto then. Great start but not putting him above probably the two best players right now lol

I'm not at all saying he's above the two of them right now. I was just saying in terms of the first 77 games of their respective careers in the Major League, Conforto looks pretty damn good

  16. He also has the benefit of basically only hitting vs. righties

I'd be really happy to see him back in orange and black, but really, I'm just glad he'll be throwing again.

A girl I went to school with was Ty Cobb's cousin. She did a huge report on it in the 5th grade.

I sort of feel for the guy. By all accounts he works hard and isn't disgruntled by being asked to do anything. Maybe this shoulder injury is what has caused his decline in production. He was fat when he was good.
