I wish he'd stop looking backwards all the time and constantly trying to go for some flavor of retro vibe He's always going on about "the greats" or some retro genre or vibe. It's good to appreciate what came before us but I'd love to see him just go for something entirely unique and from his own head.

I really like this chorus, especially with the alternate lyrics after the bridge. The tone and instrumentation are great too. I love that organ part. Pretty much exactly what I was hoping to hear from him.

 

I signed up for Instagram and downloaded the app onto my phone all just to hear this snippet, and it's not working for me... I'm watching his story I think, but there's no sound.

This song is so good. It's right in his wheelhouse musically and obviously lyrically but it has a certain swagger to it. The little "time clock, whistle stop, sleep and get back up again STACEY" in the second verse made me laugh just because that's not something I could have seen him pulling off.
