The Nia situation is really really odd. A newer wrestler on the roster doesnt just get a couple weeks off cause she feels like it. No fuckin way.

 

I don't really disagree with any of your points, but 1 is exactly why I don't have a problem with her match with Emma. The way they've been booked, no one on the roster should be able to touch her. So if she starts squashing people, where does it end? Does she just do it for a month or so and then start having competitive matches all of a sudden with people that are all on the same level as people she's been destroying? Or does she just become Goldberg and destroy everyone and anyone until Kairi gets called up or something? I don't see how the first option is any better or makes any more sense in kayfabe than what she's doing now and I damn sure don't want to see her wasted doing the second thing. At least there is some kayfabe logic to her going from close matches at the end of her NXT run to close matches on the main roster. It's supposed to be a tougher roster. She can still be unbeatable.

 

My bet is that Shayna beats Asuka and ends the streak next summer or so, and they pull the whole bit where Asuka passes out rather than taps. If anything I’m a little grateful Asuka and Charlotte are on separate shows because it makes them kinda have to save it for when it matters more down the road

I just think its a silly stance to be against her beating a few jobbers to help her build some character for her new audience. There are absolutely zero consequences to her destroying some jobbers her first few matches. Zero.

 

I mean she could if uncle Dwayne gives a call to Vince and promises to put over Roman at the Rumble again.

 

Yep, thats what Dana is for. And Alicia (though I guess you cant have your captain get squashed). No need for true jobbers, just some 3-4min matches where Asuka wrecks house.

And if that Nia stuff is true, she's oddly right. Her being the first actual challenger at a PPV, giving Asuka a 10-12min match, that makes sense and hurts neither of them. While Nia losing her 5th match to Sasha...not so great

 

the Scribe from the Broken Hardy's video got into some twitter beef with Meltzer over how PWG matches suck because they lack story

 

Meltzer is a cold blooded assassin on twitter I love it.

 

PWG has some of the best matches every year, and I think a lot of them do tell great stories. Chuckie T winning the title in particular

 

PWG definitely went through minimal stories last year, but the past 6 months they've been carrying multiple angles.

 

I totally believe that nia story. she is a shit

 

She did it for The Rock

 

Don't get me wrong, I'm bored of squashes/that type of booking in general, but I would have had no problem with her doing it against jobbers on Raw. But if they were going to start her off against a regular roster performer on a PPV, I'd rather they do it the way they did.

 

This is odd

 

Feel bad for the other four guys to have risked their careers with this move only for Blampied to sink it with his dick before they even get started

Asuka having a competitive match with a Sasha or Alexa would be one thing because they’ve been established as top talent.

Emma has been booked as a jobber, and it makes Asuka look like she’s on that’s level if she has to struggle to beat her.

It’s a weird debate honestly, it’s bad booking. Asuka should be squashing people like Emma (deal with it nerds) and having competitive matches with the top women.

Emma should have been established before all this. It’s a double mistake.

 

Chuckie T's almost like decade long story at that.

You can't blame them for not doing so much long-term storytelling when they try real hard to promote all these different guys from all over which keeps their roster fresh and with WWE stooges back stage at every major show to pluck their next signees.

 

Oh my god not to mention the Kenny Omega/Chuck Taylor vs El Generico/Colt Cabana/Rick Knox storyline that ran for like a year or so.

Holy shit I want that feud again.

 

Rick Knox v Young Bucks too...his tope is still one of the funniest damn things Ive ever seen. Steen on commentary laughing his ass off

 

When was the last time we saw Nia? Was it in that match she took that power bomb onto the floor? What if she just had a concussion and they want to hide it? I’m just speculating

 

It just seems like Nia thinks she's a much better wrestler than she actually is. Probably WWE's fault for calling her up way too soon
