There's an article on polygon critiquing the show for the plot development with Jon on Sunday, saying death on the show is now undermined because he was brought back. I guess they forgot about the fact that GOT takes place in a world where decapitations, burnings, head-popping and dismemberment are really common? haha.

According to prophecy, in ancient books of Asshai from over five thousand years ago, Azor Ahai is to be reborn again as a champion sent by R'hllor. This will occur after a long summer when an evil, cold darkness descends upon the world. It is said that wielding Lightbringer once again, Azor Ahai will stand against the Others and if he fails, the world fails with him.

Just a fun reminder to everyone that Roose Bolton chose Fat Walda as his bride because Walder Frey promised the bride's weight in silver as her dowry :crylaugh:

The battle at the Tower of Joy is next week, who knows if we go inside though. I'm betting we see Rickon again next episode too.

i'm afraid rickon is the "gift" being presented to ramsay in the "next week on" preview :-/

He probably is. Robb called Greatjon oathbreaker. The episode is called oathbreaker. The Umber's are seen. Rickon is with the Umbers.

But I could also see it being a fake out. They never did the fake Arya plot, maybe it's fake Rickon instead.

Still think Theon has a good chance of being the gift.

I don't remember the Umbers ever being anything but loyal bannermen to the Starks. When and why did Robb call Greatjon Oathbreaker?

youre thinking of the karstarks i believe, and didn't rickon go to the manderly's in white harbor?

Nah, he was sent to the Umbers in the show and the Manderlys sent Davos to get Rickon from Skagos in the books.

just watched the episode with Greatjon last night, it's when Robb first rallies all the banners before they leave Winterfell.

Some dispute at a dinner table back in season one. It's probably a tongue in cheek reference to it and we could also get the death of Arys just cause of the title.

robb named the greatjon an oathbreaker in the show? fr?

edit: oh that scene. i thought i missed one. i thought the greatjon became his staunchest supporter in both mediums after that scene

Robb called Greatjon an oathbreaker when he called the banners back in S1. I believe he said he'd return from the war, chase the Umbers out of Last Hearth root and stem, and hang them for oathbreakers. It was after the Greatjon threatened to march his troops home when Robb insisted that the Glovers lead the van.

But yeah they have also been the most staunch Stark supporters.

There is a YouTube video online that a very dedicated Spanish fan posted. He climbed twelve hours up a mountain to apparently spy on filming and he caught them during the Tower of Joy flashback. He apparently saw Sean Bean, and saw Howland Reed stab what's his name in the back

I wish they just woulda make-up'd Sean Bean to look younger, but the previews for next week seem to indicate it's a different actor who does bear a decent resemblance to him.

I'm just going to stop this now haha. Sean Bean was not involved, an actor named Robert Aramayo is playing Ned.
