Does anyone find it weird that niemi was left out to dry sat then got waived today? Is he like locker room cancer or something?

 

I haven't watched any Pens games, but .797 SV% is pretty ... not good. But how much of that was Niemi and how much of that was bad defending?

 

He's just terrible.

 

Sounds like every Hawks fan I met at the draft. Had to waste three minutes of your time with their stories about how they weren't bandwagon fans and watched all of their games when they weren't even on TV. I'm just like bro......nobody cares.

Of the 10 games, we've given up a goal in the first 5:30 6 times. Honorable mention to the MON game when we got a goal overturned a minute later. This is un-fucking-acceptable.

COL - 5:29 into 1st
TOR - 2:30 into 1st
MON - 6:24 into 1st (disallowed)
STL - 0:15 into 1st
PIT - 0:43 into 1st
NYI - 2:40 into 1st
SJS - 1:56 into 1st

Cool seeing Marner put up two points on the 4th line last night. I have no idea why he's playing down there but whatever I'm not Mike Babcock. I'm sure he knows what he's doing lol.

 

Prior to last night, Marner was on the ice for eight goals against, and three for. His entire line (Bozak/JVR) has been on the ice for a goal or more against in every game but one. That line has been so absolutely terrible at defence, not just this year, but last year too.

Babcock said Marner got bumped down because he's the kid, which was as much a knock on Bozak and JVR's notoriously terrible defending as it was on Marner.

 

Any team that employs Patrick Kane is a joke franchise so....

 

It’s so hard to be excited about hockey right now with how bad the Wings are. I just want Holland gone so I can at least be somewhat optimistic

I get that but he's an offensive player. As a winger his job is to guard the point and if the center/defensive pairing is playing like a bunch of bums you can't fault him too much in their own zone. I get that he needs to be better on the back check though. I can see Marner being moved up to the third line with Kadri
