Saw was the perfect bad-good horror series for my friends and I in high school, but Saw 3D is legitimately one of the worst movies I've ever seen

4 and 5 are basically trash, but weirdly enough, I think I remember the health care angle of 6 seeming kind of refreshing?

Syfy has been playing a nightmare on elm St marathon for 2 days and it's awesome. The original is so iconic and amazing I cannot even handle it. Two is amusing with all the overtones, and dream warriors is also good. But that first one is so perfect. Favorite movie of all time. I remember being a kid and Tina's and Glen's death scenes feeling so terrifying and I still think they're effective now. I could go on forever.

The first is a classic, one of the best horror movies made.

I feel like there has to be a reason (other than money) they came back to the series. Someone must have had an idea they felt was worth the revival. I have hopes it’ll be one the better films in the series.

Edit: late to the party. I mean in regards to the Saw series.

Syfy's slogan for this marathon is Don't Fall Asleep but I did while watching Dream Warriors #rebel

I haven’t. I’m only aware of Daybreakers. I remember thinking it was an original idea for the vampire genre. I was interested then completely spaced it haha. I know nothing about their other films. Worth checking out?

True story haha. But a sequel to The Ring feels different only because it wasn’t a series that was put to bed. Just a one off.

is it connected to the movie at all? like should I do a rewatch before starting the series? or is it it's own thing.

The first season is connected to the movie. I don't think you have to rewatch it tho. It is referenced but not in a way that u won't get it, as long as u remember the basic plot points.

    Watching alone or with others?

Yeah, what Kiana said. I really like the way it connects to the movie, like it takes place in the same world and they mention the events from the movie, but so far it doesn't necessarily feel like a direct continuation. No reason to rewatch the movie, unless you just want to watch the movie again, which is the best reason.
