I don’t hate CTL, I just never thought it was anywhere near their best work. It’s fine. It has a few fantastic gems, but overall I don’t love the album as a whole.

  2. the second half of CTL just doesn't click with me

CTL is far and away my favorite album from them. I also can't stop listening to Invented today. I loved it when it came out, but I am getting a chance to rediscover it.

I like Chase This Light but if I'm ever in the mood to hear some JEW, I only ever really put on Clarity, BA, Futures or IB

Craig's reflection hit home, because I got into them with CTL. So I feel in love with Invented, Damage, and then Integrity Blues the way people did with Clarity - Futures.

Add in Damage and I agree completely.

You're not including Dizzy in that are you? Please tell me Dizzy clicks with you at least?

That one too actually, just less frequent than the others. I just never really touch CTL or Invented because like I said normally when I'm in the mood to hear them I just play one of those other albums

  10. Honestly, it's rare that I put CTL on. It's even more rare that I get through the whole thing. I had to go back and listen to "Dizzy" just now to remember what song it was, haha. Listening to it, I'd definitely put it above the rest of the second half of the album, for sure. They always have great closers, and it's definitely no exception. I need to make a playlist of something of just the songs I like from this album so I can listen to just that when I feel like listening to the JEW stuff I don't listen to as much as everything else.

Dizzy is my second favorite Jimmy Eat World song of all-time.

Damn it, Brad. You had to listen to it to remember what it was?! There are no words to describe how I feel right now.

  14. hahaha I honestly can't remember the last time I put that album on. the last time i heard even a single song from it is each time I see them play live (assuming they played a song or two from it, i don't even know)

Clarity, Bleed American, and Futures are my babies. CTL is a weird transitional album that I wasn't a fan of. Everything that came after that blends together for me. They don't have a single bad album. But their last few just don't hit me the same way as the first few. I suck... haha. But dammit, i will see them live every single chance I get!

Same. I usually only put on CTL/Invented when I am doing a full discography listen. Otherwise they just don’t do much for me as whole albums.

Maybe if it wasn’t the closing track after a handful of pretty average JEW songs.

Oh yeah, 23 is my favorite. Not just by them, but one of my favorite songs of all-time by any band.

It's not fair that I've never had the opportunity to see them live but you've seen them multiple times and don't even know the song "Dizzy"

  21. You live in New York and you've never seen Jimmy Eat World live?! I assume they play there on just about every tour they do, don't they?! I've seen Jimmy Eat World 9 (NINE!) times since 2002!

I live in upstate NY. Any opportunity I've had to see them money, lack of babysitter, etc. has come up. Definitely not every tour cycle though.

I mean I know it and remember it. But I can understand how someone could be less familiar as they didn’t slog through til the end.

How can you see a band 9 times and like them THAT much but don't know one of their songs that's considered a top 5 track of theirs by a majority of their fans?! How?!
