I already ordered the pink variant because I'm weak and there are only 500 (and I already have it on black). I think I'm most excited about getting the acoustic ep on vinyl. Those are particularly good acoustic versions. I'd even argue there's a case to be made for Fell In Love Without You acoustic being better than the original.

 

I don’t own Even If I‎t Kills me on vinyl yet, so this is the perfect time to buy it.

Grabbed a pink. This was the record that got 13 year old me into this band. Used to have a copy, but sold it because I was broke.

This will be NCAA style matches, with randomly generated brackets for each album facing off to decide which is the winner of each album. At the end of all of the albums, we'll do a finale Champions Bracket to decide the best overall Motion City Soundtrack song (lol like it's possible to narrow it down to one)!

Rules:
1. Voting will take place over 10-24 hour period (I may let the first round go longer to make sure everyone becomes aware of it), depending on How close the matches are(if there's a wide margin too far to beat the round may be run ruled to not waste time), and as well as average votes and participation.
2. You must vote on every match in a round. If you don't your other votes don't count. Jut reply to this thread with your choices. I guess I will not vote unless a tie breaker is needed, but you better believe you're still getting my (probably very strong) opinions at the end of each round.
3. PLEASE Feel free to discuss why you chose one song over the other and why you like that song. It's what helps keeps these fun and not just pages of song titles. Not required though, this isn't college and I ain't yo teacher.
4. I avoid byes into rounds if I can, but sometimes it's necessary. These are randomly generated I do not pick them.
5. Once your votes are counted, signified by me 'liking' your post, there are no vote changes. Choose wisely before posting!

We will start with I Am the Movie and work our way to Panic Stations, including bonus tracks with their respective albums. Then I'll do one more round of others which will include:
-Making Moves EP
-Random singles (Inside Out, Always Running Out Of Time, Wait So Long cover)
-Pre-IATM essentials (as determined by yours truly - Back to the Beat, 1000 Paper Cranes, Throw Down, Sunday Warning)

For full transparency, on the EIIKM bracket, I included one of the songs from the acoustic EP to get to an even 16 songs. I picked Fell In Love Without You because it's probably the best acoustic version of a song I've ever heard.

It's going to be really hard for me not to be incredibly biased during this because you both have already made one ridiculous choice (although I agree on 5/6, but the one you're messing up is a big one).

 

Now you feel my pain I felt in the Blink-182, Taking Back Sunday, Linkin Park, Brand New AND MCR brackets

I always slack off on these things a few rounds in. MCS is easily my favorite band and I really plan to stick this one out!

One thing that helped me in the ETID bracket (that @carrytheweight graciously ran) was being tagged in the post when a new round started. I'd recommend making a list of early participants and tagging them to keep them coming.

Also –

Don't Call It a Comeback – Love the synth and guitar in this song, and how heavy it is for them. "Modern Chemistry" is a classic MCS song in its own right, but I think they have plenty of songs that do similar things but do them better.

Indoor Living – Another classic MCS song, not much else for me to say there. "Autographs & Apologies" is really good too, and in many ways hints at some things they would explore on CTTM, especially melodically, but I also think it gets overshadowed by the songs around it.

Mary Without Sound – I dig the urgency in this song, the melody in the pre-chorus, and great use of synth throughout. I never loved "My Favorite Accident" the way other people seemed to. It's good, and catchy, but there's not much else to it for me.

Capital H – What's not to love!? I mean, "Anevildoctorrocketsciencemonster with capabilities to destroy the entire universe" . . . come on! Sorry "Boombox Generation", you're fun, but there's no consolation prize (there's no prize for consolation).

The Future Freaks Me Out – This is the song that got me into them, so it has to get my vote, but "A-OK" is a great closer and certainly deserves some recognition.

Perfect Teeth – I'll be honest, I didn't fully get into this song until I heard the Limbeck version and I might even like that version better. But the original is, of course, great on its own and lyrically really strong. "Red Dress" doesn't do much for me lyrically, or melodically other than "I like the red dress!".
