Interestingly enough that was his most accurate year. Weird. I don't understand how kickers work.

Teams whiff on QBs for a reason, because it’s a really hard position to play at the NFL level and it’s tough to evaluate them. You can laugh at the Browns for “giving” away a Watson and Wentz. They’re waiting to get a QB because they’re trying to build depth at other positions before they throw another guy to the wolves.

It’s not like the Texans are some genius organization because they got Watson. I’m not saying he isn’t good but there is no way he’s performing as well as he in a Browns uniform.

sorry, the BRowns ran out of excuses a long long time ago

their OLine is actually pretty good. They wouldnt really be throwing a guy to the wolves. Did you watch Kevin Hogan this past week? He is horrendous. I think I have a better arm than he does

It isn’t really an excuse, the Browns obviously made a lot of dumb decisions to put themselves in this place. But it isn’t really correct to compare them to other bad teams at this point. When you’ve gone this long without any real success, it’s going to take a much longer and careful approach to try to resurrect this team. They’ve been too bad for too long and have had too much turnover.

I mean the Jags have also been a dumpster fire for how long now and they've clearly turned a corner....shown some sort of resemblance of a professional football team while the Browns are still sitting in the corner eating a five gallon bucket of Elmer's.

The Jaguars were a playoff team ten years ago. The Browns haven’t even been .500 since 2002?

Edit: okay i did miss the 2007 season haha

This. And honestly, it comes down to ownership. There is nothing Haslam has done that indicates he understands football. And based on his scams at Pilot; how to run a business either.

He hired two guys with no football personnel experience to run the club. They turn over coaches every year, basically. They are 1-21 under those guys, and this is the first off season you could maybe argue they had a good draft in a decade.

Whereas the Jags new owner hired a guy who was scouting for the Colts and Falcons during times they built their Super Bowl cores. They hired a young coach with a history of success and have stuck by him. They've made bad moves (see: Bortles), but a good structure can overcome those.

You could argue the Browns need 2-3 more years to turn the corner...but, is there any indication that the front office + Jackson are ever gonna be more than a 2-14 or 1-15 team?

Its why the Redskins will never be successful, even when they luck into talent (cousins, norman, etc). And its why the Steelers will never truly suck, even when they draft poorly and lose Big Ben.

Was gonna say, the 2007 season where they missed the playoffs at 10-6. But yeah; its been BAD.

To be fair, Khan knows nothing about football and has assembled a staff of Good Ole Boys.

I’m not looking forward to life after Ben... it’s going to be such a crapshoot with QB for a few years.

Well, in the comparison to Snyder for example, it takes a lot to stay truly hands off and let a coach go 4-12/5-11 for 4 straight seasons. And keep the same GM as well

I mean he’s not a very good quarterback and I want him to leave next year and get his coaching career started since he won’t make it in the NFL.

Actually, if Kellen Moore can hold a clipboard then I’m fairly certain Jake Browning can, too.

Because uhmmmm Fuck Dallas? Good enough for me.

Jerry might have to shut down the Victoria Secret inside the stadium for a few days to make up for this irreparable harm.
