It's pretty funny listening to people freak out in Cleveland over Kessler. They don't understand the pick because now there are five QB's on the roster and that they thought the third round was too early for him. While the last point may be true, Josh and Shaw won't be on the roster for the season. I think Austin Davis could go either way. RG3 and Kessler will absolutely be on the roster as they are handpicked by the new regime. Pretty simple to me haha.

I dig the life labs, worked for chip in his first season. I can't believe there are teams that don't do that, gotta be as conditioned as possible before hitting the field. I dont think simple walkthroughs would kill anyone but its a fair trade off.

So one of my HS football coaches presented at the drafts. Vikings 5th round pick.

 

They chose Kessler in the 3rd over Jones in the 5th. Plus, RGIII and Kessler has got to be the weirdest duo in the league aside from Mariota and Mett.

Apparently Cowboys would have given Seahawks their 2nd and 3rd and possibly more if lynch was still there. They talked multiple times according to Peter King.

They also would've moved from 4 to 6 but newsome offered a 4th and jones wanted a 3rd, he mentioned he would've used that 3rd to probably move up. Basically would've given that too if they could've moved up for lynch. Would've been a haul for a bottom 1st team to grab.

 

I feel like that is same thing people said when Washington drafted RG3 and Cousins in terms of pairing. With Kessler, I think it's Hue getting a QB he likes that he can develop with little pressure from the outside. Similar to what he did with AJ in Cinci. I know they are preaching competition and not handing RG3 the starting spot, but the writing is on the wall. I just think wants to start developing a backup that he likes in case you need him like Washington and Cinci did at some point.

 

And honestly, they had a ton of picks so maybe they had reached a point on their board where they felt okay hitting a need and a guy they like rather than bpa. It's very possible Someone else could've targeted him at the top of the 4th maybe and they knew it was a good time.

Well, Cleveland had 99 and 100, the first two picks in the fourth. Ultimately, they made the trade out of 100 to allow Oakland to grab Cook. They had dialogue with other teams such as Dallas about it. My guess is they knew Dallas lost out on Paxton earlier and saw several QB's still available. Trading down to the end of round 3 and grabbing an extra pick allows them to be more flexible with those picks in the fourth.

 

It'll be okay unless Paxton lunch turns out to be really good, which is... Certainly possible

 

If he'll be good anywhere, Denver is probably the place.
