That loneliness is not a function of solitude.

    This was a good read.

Although I didn't think Melisandre snipping Jon's hair had anything to do with the off-season chatter.

But it does sound like he is going to be able to warg into Ghost when he wants.

    Book spoilers but:

The Tyrion Scene would seemingly confirm the "three-headed dragon" theory from the books that Tyrion is a Targaryen right? So R+L=J getting confirmed next week as we all think is only the beginning.

I've just taken this as fact at this point. It can't be anything else.

Can someone briefly explain to me why both Jon and Tryrion are rumored to be Targaryen? I know the theory behind Jon, kind of, based on his lineage and what not, but why Tyrion? I think I'm missing something, and I've never read the books.[\spoiler]

the idea is that the mad king aerys raped (or just seduced) tywin's wife and sired tyrion. there is a theory that depends on aerys making remarks about wanting the "right to the first night" with joanna when she married tywin and acting upon it at some point. it's loose and shaky at best tho imo.

I think Tyrion's story would be more interesting if he was around more interesting characters. Sure there's Varys, but he's also with Missandei and Grey Worm who are an unbelievable snooze.

To be fair he did start out with everyone at King's Landing, and he's interacted with more characters than any other on the show.

    Correct me if I'm wrong.

So I guess Jonny Boy is now the safest character in the show? How hilarious would it be if they killed him again next episode :eh:

Wouldn't that though make Jamie and Cersei targaryen instead of Tyrion since they were the first born?

No, because the assumption is that the actual conception took place at an unspecified later date. The first night thing is just to note that he expressed interest in her.

that said, I've read a similar theory but about Jaime and Cersie instead, it's pretty flimsy tho

This was a pretty fantastic episode. One of the first times the series actually felt like it's own rather than an adaptation. The last season felt more like they were just "showing scenes" if that makes any sense. It wasn't the best episode but I think few episodes were as concise thematically as this one. Plus they absolutely nailed Euron. Nothing will beat Oberyn but damn that was easily second best.

I'm still hoping we get a set piece as gorgeous as Eyrie.

Is it TOO obvious who kills him? Or would that be cliche?

Show him being flayed by his own men or something extremely gruesome and drawn out.

I'd be happy if either Theon or Sansa did it. Hopefully they give us that satisfaction.

On a side note I also want Arya to stick Walder Frey with needle's pointy end ;-)

He probably has. I just think it's an unfortunate circumstance for him with who he has to be around right now. It doesn't weigh down his character for me by any means, but It does make me a little less interested in what's happening in Mereen until Daenerys comes back.

Ugh Arya, finally glad something happened with her last night, and looks to be even more progression next week. I know where she ends up, I just want to see her get there already.

Quick book related possible spoiler didn't Dany already reach King's Landing in the books? is her storyline the only one NOT surpassed by the show, at least out of the main characters? Also, what happens with Cersei's trial by combat, what brings that upon?[\spoiler]
