Here’s something: last night I saw a grown ass man throw a temper tantrum because he couldn’t get a setlist from the stage after the show. A dude who just got to see BRAND NEW FRONT ROW. I can’t believe the entitlement of some of their fans.

 

Ugh that is embarrassing. I honestly hate like half the fan base

 

when i saw them in london this guy started kicking me because i wouldn't let him push past me at the front. fucking brits

 

Omg at Coachella this year a Brit started physically fighting a guy for the exact same reason

In California I learned about all the bad things the country did but I don't think all the states have the same curriculum

 

I think we learn about the stuff, but it's always presented as more like "oh yea we made some mistakes in the past but it's ok now", instead of "we have a truly vile history and the repercussions are still felt today".

 

i specifically had a super fucking cool US history teacher who taught us all about how the country's been a shitshow from the start but that's definitely not normal - he was just a particularly conscious teacher, it wasn't in the curriculum. he had all these old school slides and other material that was in no way school board approved or certified, and is probably outright banned there by now (it's a v red county).

 

I've always looked at it as we have a wonderfully progressive country, and many great things/people/ideas/advancements have all come from here, but at immense costs that may just be irreversible.

 

I took a little break from listening to Brand New. I just put on SF for the first time in close to a month in anticipation of tonight.

It is as glorious as I remembered. Tonight should be fun.

 

Also, love when the total shitbag talks like he's above an entire country of people because History. I need to stop touching that show blocked content button.

I'm pretty sure he was just asking to see if we are taught about our abhorrent history as a country. we've done so much bad shit in the past and we definitely don't teach our kids about what we've done. we whitewash everything and pretend like we are on the right side of history for the most part.

I don't think they were trying to start anything this time.
