I think my break from this show has helped me go easier on them. When I finished this last season (a week ago), I didn't hate it as much as I thought I would. Haha. But yes, the landfill was a series low.

Lol I was on a road trip with a couple friends of mine recently and one of them still watches The Walking Dead while the other gave up a couple episodes into last season. The friend who still watches it was trying to explain what last season was like and why it was so bad when my other friend said “if you could describe it in five words or less, what would they be?”

I quickly counted in my head and then started laughing as I stared out the window.

“Show Rick Up Up Up,” I said.

    “God dammit” said my friend.

Ok apparently they're doing a crossover between the shows? How, I don't follow FTWD but aren't they in Mexico or something lol

They've mostly been in Mexico/The American south west, but it also takes place much closer to the outbreak...I think they're only like a year out in this show, vs 3-4 years out in TWD....

My guess is they take a character from Fear and have him/her survive long enough to make it out to the east coast

I'd guess similarly, seeing as there will be a time jump this season. The (re)introduction could come in the latter half.

Greg Nicotero just came into our movie theater. Pitched us a gameshow idea, seems like a nice guy.

Michael Cudlitz posted a tweet that may imply Abraham showing up in FTWD. I wouldn't really be stoked due to already knowing what happens to the character.

Not seriously. He was just sitting at the bar and told us an idea he came up with on the spot.

Yeah but I won't be kind when each season, they have a great opener, and then completely do whatever the fuck nonsense for 8 episodes, kill someone that holds no weight to the overarching story, and then set up a damsel in distress scenario that takes for fucking ever to solve (the last one being an unnecessary suicide). It's borderline criminal how much they've just rehashed things, made such terrible dialogue, and then created hook ups that make no sense. It almost feels like the last 2 seasons have been fan fiction.

Yeah I took a long time to finally watch this last half season because I had lost interest. So much of the show now feels like stalling and forcing things in to eat up time. Like Sasha giving up on shooting Negan after one failed attempt then deciding to rush in by herself (when they've all had plenty of opportunities to kill him). Then locking Rosita out because, ya know, that makes sense. It's not even the unbelievability for me, it's that they're milking each plot line to no end.

Whole show just seems so lacklustre atm. Ever since 'that' Negan cliffhanger it's been a shitshow in the sense that, in that particular episode, they proved how good the show can be with the painstakingly tense build-up (my heart was seriously racing by the time they got caught) and Negans introduction, only to spectacularly fuck it up and not recover from it since.

Tyreese's last episode is my fav episode ever I think, I stands out to me because it feels like some sort of dream the whole time. I wish they'd do more stuff like that, there's no real variation in the style of the episodes (save for when we met the trash people and it seemed like some sort of 70s film!)

They really just need a better screenwriter. They have the show well cast (for the most part) and all the resources now that they'd need to make a really good zombie show. They fall short every season and I continue to let it bum me out.
