Darvish with two scoreless innings on his first rehab start. Couple of strikeouts and a walk, touching 95 with his fastball. Good start to his return.

So how many of the Yankees does Price strikeout tonight? 18? Lol ugh. I don't think I should watch.

Be sure to drink your Ovaltine.

We'll be lucky if we make it to 2nd base. And that'll depend if Price walks 2 in a row.

It feels like 13 years ago that we got like 8 or 9 hits in a row off him in Detroit lol

    Give what you can.

    As I was saying...

And oh man... I can't tell who it is but I can see Harry and Lloyd from Dumb and Dumber in the back right hand side. Team is brilliant.

What's so tiring about it? It's obviously working. No reason a guy can't keep a fun and relaxed clubhouse atmosphere.

I don't think it makes a big difference. Let's face it. When Maddon has been very successful in TB and Chicago he was given this wealth of talent in both cases. I doubt him having some guy playing guitar in CF or having a pajama party is really helping the play on the field. But maybe that's why people are dying to play for him. What do I know?

This, in my honest opinion, just sounds like a Cardinals fan who is salty because the Cubs are good again. Also, I don't know what to tell you if you don't think creating a good clubhouse atmosphere leads to good team chemistry, which affects the on-field results.

When I played sports we always did retreats and stuff like that bc it made us closer and we played more as a team bc we trusted each other and bonded.

I had the same thought when he was in TB and I like following TB because I go to their AAA games a lot. Your right I'm probably more so being a Cardinal fan with his antics right now. But I don't think his off the field stuff does anything. His GMs have spent years accruing young talent and his style reaps the benefits of that.

So many reasons to hate ESPN. And I'm a Yankees fan. How do you edit that out? And don't get me started on that cheesefest of a Sunday Night Baseball broadcast last night. Aaron Boone imitating David Ortiz? Fuck.

    Maddon is tacky.

The SNB broadcast is waayyyy better with the current booth.

  22. Ridiculous to say that a good clubhouse atmosphere doesn't help a team. It's at least 50% responsible for the 2013 Red Sox

  23. A team that started Jonny Gomes, Jarrod Saltalamachia, Stephen Drew, Will Middlebrooks, Ryan Dempster, and Felix Doubront won a World Series. Most of them attributed a lot of their success to the atmosphere in the clubhouse and the city. But nah, it has nothing to do with success. lmao

I'm not saying good clubhouse atmosphere doesn't do anything. I'm saying making every plane ride dress like bozo does nothing. Maybe it's me and I'm just old and crotchety but I'd be so pissed if I had to find a weird suit and wear it. I cringe whenever I see stuff like this in the workplace.

I'll believe his style works when he goes to the Dodgers and manages a truly talented team that just underperforms before him.

    Managers are overrated.
