Not quite the place for this but ESPN just suspended Jemele Hill

 

This isn't rly something to make puns about tbh

 

I don’t disagree with what she said but I understand why they suspended her. Apparently she told people to boycott sponsors of the Cowboys. A lot of those sponsors are also sponsors of ESPN, her employer. You can’t tell the world to boycott those who pay your company large amounts of money and not expect any consequences.

 

Well, hopefully someone posts one of who sponsors ESPN and they lose money too

 

packers don't stick out? seahawks will get hot soon enough. and the eagles were a td away from taking the chiefs into OT. not hating on the chiefs at all; they are deff the best team rn and probably do have a straight ride to the Super Bowl within their current shitty conference but to imply they would win it so easily against their nfc opponent? oh and andy reid is the coach so...

Jemele rules. Glad she speaks her mind on these issues. In a white male dominated sports world, having her perspective is so fresh and needed.

 

This has nothing to do with her being outspoken on these issues, but I find their show fairly boring.

Jemele is fucking awesome. She explicitly stated "I'm not advocating a boycott", she was deconstructing a power balance between audience, owners, and players in the anthem protests and Jerry Jones' stance. Plenty of ESPN personalities get longer leashes than that, much as I completely and 100% love him, if what Jemele said was over the line, why isn't there some bullshit reason to suspend Bomani Jones for anything he's ever tweeted? Not that I think they should, I think Bomani is one of the best follows on the entire Twitter website, but Hill's suspension is such nonsense.
