Probably this show because how much it bummed me out that the band never talked. Felt weird. And JEW blew them away earlier that night.

Actual worst performance I've probably seen is when I saw Wavves and they were too drunk to play power chords right

 

Worst band I've seen is probably a tie between New Beat Fund (opened up for blink in 2013) and Copeland (opened for Paramore in 2015).

New Beat Fund, who I never heard of, were just awful, the crowd crapped all over them from the start and the only time they were cheered is when they said "this is our last song'. Later on in the night when blink was playing Tom asked the crowd if we liked New Beat Fund and everyone booed and Tom said "geez tough crowd do you even like us" and the crowd cheered and Tom said something like "Good, yeah screw New Beat Fund, we're better".

Copeland, who I heard of but not really familiar with, were just kind of boring, they just had no energy and sorry to say this but didn't seem like they wanted to be there.

This is not Blink related at all, but I HAVE to tell you guys because I think you'll appreciate it.

I have this joke with my girlfriend where sometimes when she comes home I say, "Hey! I've been working on a new song today. You want to hear it?!" And when she says yes, I always play the opening riff to "Slide" by the Goo Goo Dolls, and she rolls her eyes. I get her EVERY TIME!

So yesterday after work, I recorded audio of me being like, "Hey girlfriend! I've been working on this little surprise for you!" and I start playing a song that sounds like it's going to be real nice and sweet, and right when I take a breath to start singing, I made it so "Slide" starts playing. I put it on a CD that's filled with "Slide" (for 21 tracks) and had it queued up in the car for her this morning for when she drove to work.

She texted me a minute ago saying, "Well..... I'm sure you've been DYING all morning. I swooned SO hard at first, and then rolled my eyes so hard I got a headache." And on her Snapchat story, it's just her going through track by track, and it's just "Slide" over and over.

I'm so proud of myself, guys! Hahahaha

 

Angels and Airwaves at the Tabernacle in Atlanta in 2010. Tom was worse than usual, and they were obviously not invested in the crowd. People even left mid set

 

Alkaline Trio 2? years ago at a riot fest after show. I thought it was going to be awesome because it was a late show with a 21+ admission. Instead got a crowd that acted like complete dicks, hardly anyone was moving as if they were too cool to have fun. I got punched for "jumping around too much" and people kept screaming rude things at Matt, sarcastically requesting blink songs and throwing drinks at him.

 

That's ridiculous. I feel sorry for both you and Matt in that story

 

I know you mean audience members left mid set... but in my head I first read first and would find it funnier if it was band members leaving midset. Like the bass player just went, “fuck this! I don’t need to play in this band just to have Tom flail his arms around on stage. This isn’t worth the paycheck. I. AM. OUT.” And just walk off stage midsong.

Had the second interview today, and as is now tradition, listened to California on the way there
