I know this isn’t about horror movies, but how in the hell are there two movies out right now with the word “American” in the title? “American Made” and “American Assassin”. How many people thought they were seeing one movie and ended up watching the other? I feel like one should’ve bowed out gracefully and waited 6 weeks to release.

That’s awesome. I know they were touring around an original 35mm print they recently discovered. Any chance it’s that?

Just finished Kill List. Thought it was pretty decent and that third act came along and really bumped it up a notch. I went in 100% blind, totally forgetting that one of y’all suggested it when I mentioned liking stuff that had to do with the occult, so when that stuff popped up I was like, “oh yeah!” though there were a couple small hints throughout. I sorta called who “The Hunchback” was but it was still really fucked up to see the curtain revealed. Really my only gripe was the look of the movie but I’m sure it was a small budget so that’s really just a nitpick. Solid overall and definitely fucked.

Might do a double feature with Gerald’s Game

Prioritising horror films for this month and I'm having fun revisiting old favorites and watching those for the first time even if I don't like them overall.

Sorry to do this but re: Gerald's Game for those who have seen it

my girlfriend loves horror and King but one thing she can't see is sexual violence, how graphic is it and is this one you think I should watch alone? She's tough but rly don't want to make her uncomfortable

This is a spoiler for something that happens about halfway through the movie. If you don't want to read the spoiler my simple answer is it would probably make her uncomfortable....Again big spoiler.

There's a flashback where a young girl's father masturbates while she sits on his lap and he feels her shoulders. It's tough to watch. Then he manipulates her afterwords which is equally hard to watch. Since her husband dies immediately in the movie there isn't any room in the present for sexual violence. When he handcuffs her and they're "playing" it's definitely uncomfortable because he has a rape fantasy and she is NOT into it. But yeah, while she's handcuffed nothing sexually violent happens to her.

Thanks so much for the speedy response! Probably gonna watch it alone tomorrow and make the call but think it's best I don't show her for now despite her love of Flanagan

Finally got around to watching The Loved Ones. I didn’t have any idea what it was about going in, so I really enjoyed the creativity of the story. The title is perfect.

Anyone else watched All The Boys Love Mandy Lane?

Going to wait until it gets a little closer to Halloween, but I've been eagerly anticipating watching Trick R Treat again this year.

Anyone seen Behind The Mask? Been meaning to check it out.
