Maybe I missed it but...at no point did Tom say the new music was good, right?

 

I also have a really hard time believing Tom brought some of his ideas for "To the stars..." to blink. Some of the stuff in there is actually very very good and there's no way Mark or Travis would've said no. It's more likely he was bringing the crappier ideas to blink and keeping the good stuff for himself.

 

This shouldn't be an unpopular opinion. It's 100% true.

 

I know a lot of people shit on John Feldman but I think he's gonna pull out a good one here, and that's from a guy who was hoping they would have gone with Bill Stevenson too.

 

Lol... Mark is WAY more guilty than Tom of wiriting the same shit. He's been doing the same +44 lyrical tropes of depressing lyrics and throws in some random quirky line, ie:
2011: "Stop living in the shadow of a helicopter!"
2016: "Stranger staring at the ceiling... rescuing a tiger from a tree."
Tom obviously has his own styles too. Both of them seem to have creative differences nowadays.

The whole point Tom was making is he wants blink to EVOLVE. Whilst Mark wants to do the traditional pop punk anthems. Both styles are fine but to also mock Tom for "writing the same song" is silly. But you proved your ignorance by not listening to AVA's last album, so what would you know?

I joined an AvA fansite in 2006, was a fan until Love 1. That's when the band truly went to utter shit. Recycled melodies/lyrics and horrible lyrics. I wish he had a producer for AAA because Tom and the Rubin's aren't cutting it. His newest ep just makes we want to listen to I Empire.

 

And you're delusional if you think Mark is anymore more original in songwriting than Tom. AVA stands out more from Blink than +44 ever did.

 

Yeah he is guilty of occasionally recycling melodies, yes. But condsidering the amount of music he puts out compared to Mark, then I'm not surprised. If Mark actually stuck with +44 then I bet people would be saying the same thing but worse. But Tom does even point out himself that he wants Blink to "evolve".

 

The lone +44 record has more diversity than every breathy, delay effect guitar part Tom has written and regurgitated since ripping U2

 

Not really. It even pales behind Box Car Racer, lol. Tom may have took inspirations from U2 but Mark clearly did the same from Sugarcult.

That was kind of just a dumb joke but if you want to get into this Why would I listen? The Angels and Airwaves output is fucking horrible. I'm fine with Blink evolving but Tom doesn't want Blink to evolve. He doesn't even want to be in Blink. If evolving means Neighborhoods no thanks.

Tom doesn't want to be in Blink? He recently said he hasn't even left the band, lol. He just disagreed with the contract of doing an album in a six month span, whilst Mark and Travis understandably got fed up. I think what they're doing is definitely for the best, but no, Tom definitely seems to want to be in the band, even if he prefers AVA. He's just busy doing a lot of other shit to commit.

 

Still stands out more from Blink than +44 ever did. Maybe if they kept Carol and stuck to the original electronical vibe.

Seriously, dude. The one +44 album IS more diverse than anything AVA put out. "155" and "Make You Smile" as examples.
I also like a couple of AVA songs, but only from the first 2 or mabye 3 records. The rest is complete BS. The newest EP is fine though! But "Bored to Death" is still faaaaaaaar better than this.

Tom just keeps talking the same shit over and over again and won't ever change. He's the "crap talking ex boyfriend" forever and after. Talking 'bout blink's legacy while treating it like shit at the same time.

 

That guys one of the Tom PR guys that used to haunt every blink/AVA thread on AP and start stuff with everyone, it's pointless trying to say anything to him.

 

No, it isn't (wink). Box Car Racer is just as diverse as +44 itself.
Yeah, AVA's older stuff is better imo too. At least they've thrown in remixes/"reimaginings" of even the Love album, which as a collection has some good songs. Plus the first LOVE album was free to download, so I do think the hate is mostly unwarranted.

If you read all my posts my argument is a lot of bands get help in the studio and there is nothing wrong with that.

So the other guys should just wait for him to do all his projects? It's ok to let them in limbo? Bullshit.
