Man, I'd actually love for Tom to come back but have Matt stay. That'd be rad!!!

Idk everything in this song sounds like classic blink or Skiba to me. Production wise very Feldmann. Melodically Feldmann is super easy to identify like Good Charlotte's first new song they put out recently, the melodies in the chorus of that song sounded very Goldfinger. Now I don't care if Feldmann helps write or whatnot, but this just sounds like a full blink song to me. Obviously Feldmann's influence was great. Love how it sounds. All I care at the end of the day, is that Mark and Travis knew they were lacking without a producer and Tom is still too arrogant and stupid to get that. So happy for blink's future. Safe to say who was going to hurt their legacy. Not Matt Skiba haha.

It's pretty astonishing, really. If a person can't collaborate with virtually anyone and thinks his ideas and ways of doing things are the absolute best...that's a bad sign. The sad part is that they've tried things his way with Neighborhoods and that record is mostly regarded as a failure. They didn't use a producer, took forever so that he could work on other things, and they recorded in separate studios, and the release clearly suffered from it (I remember Travis saying that Tom didn't even care to listen to the mixes, so I'm not sure why he's so concerned about their "legacy" if that's the case).

I believe there was a discussion about this yesterday, but I'm not sure where all of this "artistic integrity" talk always come from. There's no integrity in not being able to collaborate or not using a producer. It's almost laughable when it's coming from a guy who's written the same record several times and copies melodies/lyrics from his own material. As long as the band is happy with it and they create an album that the fans keep wanting to return to, that's all that matters.

So you're telling me a song by Mark can't remind me of another song by Mark? I didn't say they sounded the same. I could see those two songs being on the same album and both build up from more calm Mark vocals

Also, first half a second reminds me
of Feeling This before it goes in its own direction. I think that's a cool moment to start the song

Maybe we'll get a Van Halen type set up where every few years Mark and Travis alternate from touring with Skiba and Tom haha.

I think the band is capable of writing great songs with Tom when they are all in the same room together (After Midnight being the obvious example) but I'm pretty sure they wrote DED together and nothing on that touched the quality of After Midnight, so maybe it's best long term for Skiba to be Mark and Travis's writer partner from now on.

Why is everyone freaking out about the pre-sale codes? 1. There's still 48 hours left 2. Even if you missed the pre-sale the same tickets you want will be available in the general sale

The problem being that Mark and Travis don't want to write the kind of music in 2016 that Tom does.

    My favorite youtube comments:

"Skiba my have breathed a bit of Punk back into Blink 182, but after he tours with a bunch of radio Pop bands for years and is forced to lose touch with the Punk culture...well he'll end up just as full of shit as Tom."

"doesn't sound like blink 182 at all...and no offense, but this is a really, really bad song..."

"They suck now. They won't accept their career is over"

"don't really know what i was expecting. unfortunately as a fan of blink 182 i all of a sudden get the sinking feeling that they've sold out... pseudo-cryptic lyrics and tired overused pop arrangements literally drown whatever good was in this track, if there even was anything to begin with..."

Great headache inducing comments right there.

^ YouTube is a cesspool. Avoid the comments at all post. I don't know if I've ever read a single comment there that had any kind of merit.

feldmann has gotten writing credits on several albums he's produced. and I'm not pointing that out as negative. he always gave me the vibe that he's really into what he's doing and is always willing to help the artist deliver the best product possible. I've read the guy gets next to zero sleep when working with a band. he's rad.

is it still similar to that on every comment?

I'll admit I was cynical when blink was moving on without tom. despite his craziness, it just didn't feel right without him. it was more like plus 44 featuring the singer from alkaline trio. BTD 100% removed all the negative feelings toward "new" blink
