Got like halfway through stardew valley twice (enjoyed it both times, just at some point fell out of the habit of playing and never bothered to go back). Probably will still get it on the switch once I'm done with golf story as its the perfect game for the bus ride home.

 

I'm happy that Golf Story was released before SDV. I think lot of people probably would have skipped it because the art style is so similar, at a quick glance they could look like the same game. Golf Story is a great little gem and I'm glad it got it's time to shine over the weekend, very much deserved.

It took me about 21 hours to complete Golf Story. Such a fun little game and I'm itching to go back through the courses now. That said, so ready for Stardew Valley!

 

I need some Golf Story help:

In the 2nd area I dug up the idol and gave it back to some lady by the shop. Now the turtle guy is asking for it to find the turtles and there’s yellow rings that showed up around the lake. I can “search” within those rings, but nothing happens. Wtf…

 

Beat Metroid. The first half definitely got too grindy at times, but what great bosses. Think I'm gonna try to 100% it now. Something I never do. Well, I might have done it with a DS Castlevania but overall this was just a notch below those for me. Or maybe I'll just try hard mode lol.

 

I got stuck in the same spot lol. You have to go to the other area of that course (not the lake, the area with the kiddie course) and find 5 turtles that are just lying around. Then bring them back to the lake and place them in those 5 circles.

Hell yeah ive been playing this on my iPad Pro but I’d love it on switch. Fantastic.

 

I did the foot race in the second area of Golf Story way more than I’d like to admit. I kept looking for hole 8 and 9 when there were only 7, thought I was taking crazy pills.

 

Anyone else miss the Club Nintendo program and rewards? This stuff they got going on now is total fucking trash.

 

Got so many good games from that, with the last rewards lineup they did especially, I grabbed Kid Icarus Uprising and my SO had Super Mario 3D Land. I miss it a lot.

My Nintendo pales so much in comparison.

 

I had absolutely no idea what Golf Story was and all the talk here intrigued me so I looked it up and the official page for it opens with the phrase "Golf Story combines the sheer excitement of golf..." and you all understand that Nintendo is openly mocking you right?

 

Yes. They had all kinds of games available towards the end of the run. I think I got Paper Mario and Majora's Mask on there. I remember several years ago I redeemed my coins for some really awesome posters and stuff like that too.

My Nintendo is pure garbage. None of these redeemable prizes are worth a shit. Platinum coins basically earn you wallpaper for your computer and phone. Gold coins are next to impossible to acquire.

 

Anyone playing Steamworld Dig 2? Debating between it and Golf Story... and now between it, Golf Story, and Stardew Valley lol.

 

I have lots of coins for some reason- used to be 4000or 5000, now down to 2500 I think. I’m just checking how many points expire at the end of the month and just use that to whatever reward seems the least useless.

Right now I have a lot of wallpapers, some digital game guides, an awesome Splatoon theme and some Swapdoodle DLCs.

I might grab the Zen Pinball game.

The best reward My Nintendo had is the Zelda Picross, which I admit is pretty cool. I really hope they switch things up.

 

So when do we think virtual console will be a thing? Another year? After it shits down on Wii u?

 

Sweet Jesus, is Golf Story ever fun! They should do Tennis Story next, so I can get my Mario Tennis: Power Tour fix.

 

I haven’t been able to touch any game since Picross.

I should finish Rabbids soon but every time I open my Switch I just end up playing Picross.

 

That's funny, once you beat the game one of the characters asks, "How are you at tennis?" There was also some bits in the ending about cricket so who knows. Also, this game is VERY Australian. There's a great reveal at the end related to that.
