Papyrus was a stand out, and watching Gosling break nearly every sketch was cute

 

Loved the faces he'd give Kyle in that last sketch basically whenever Kyle had a line and Ryan was expected to follow it

 

meh premiere, seems like they are shaking some cobwebs off. Awesome to get so much Alex and Mikey, but weird when Beck didn't even show up until the middle of the show

 

Always needs more Beck

I'm a HUGE Gosling guy. He's been my favorite actor for about 13 years now and love him in comedic roles (very underrated naturally funny guy) and loved his first SNL gig, but I did not care for the season premiere. At all, really.

EDIT: I will say, Papyrus was hilarious. And I have no idea why that wasn't one of the first skits instead of buried near the end.

 

Papyrus and the triplets were both fantastic. The Heniretta and bar ones were two of the worst I've seen in a while. Decent episode, overall.

 

Yeah. Pretty mediocre premiere.

Agree with others that there was a serious lack of Beck.

 

I hope that when Beck's new album comes out he is a musical guest, so we can get a sketch called Beck on Beck.

 

It's possible, Beck's been a musical guest for almost every album he's released

 

I kind of want this week's episode to start off like normal, with Alec doing his Trump impression during the Puerto Rico press conference or something. But about a minute in, he stops, goes back to being Baldwin and says something like, "I can't do this anymore. It's becoming too horrifying to be satire." And then we stop doing Trump sketches.

 

I actually agree with this. He does a great Trump, but I barely even find myself laughing any more because it's all too damn real.

 

This is probably the most accurate depiction of a president they've ever done

 

That's the issue. It shouldn't be an accurate depiction. Bush and Clinton were probably some of the best because they blew up certain characteristics.

 

I loved this episode.
