Same, unless I really LOVE and fall in love with a B-side (your own disaster, aloc-acoc), I'm not going to vote for a song I've only listened to a handful of times over a song I've listened to hundreds of times. I voted for Teenager and think it's easily the worst song on the album. But I've only listened to Kill All Your Friends like, twice, maybe.

 

I figured your favorite song would be something else...

 

People need to listen to these b-sides more, they're incredible.

I won't be voting for this album or the next. I'm not a fan really of either, so I won't bog the thread down with my useless opinion. I'll just leave it at I understand how huge the band got, and that they expanded their sound, I just didn't like the new sound.


But good for all of you to eliminate Teenagers early. That song sucks.

Mama is great but welcome to the black parade stirs up this feeling of joy and excitement. When the song kicks in after the talky beginning part idk it just feels really hopeful and good and anthemic. I also love house of wolves but it's famous last words, so.....

BP/Mama was really hard. I went back and forth. The breakdown in Mama is so much fun but Black Parade is a career defining anthem.

I remember when they were playing Disenchanted (Shut Up and Play) and couldn’t wait to hear it on the album. Such a good song

 

On the topic of TBP, does anyone ever listen to Living With Ghosts? I played it like once

I've never actually heard these b-sides until today and I wasn't exactly blown away by them. However, I still voted against Teenagers because I think that's their worst song. The second half of this album is fucking incredible and matchups involving any of those songs in the next round will be challenging.

 

I Don't Love You

Cancer (I wanted to vote for The End. becuase I love how it kind of lays out the more conceptual parts of this album and how it frames the album. I can't move past Gerard's melodies on Cancer though, so we have a winner).

Teenagers (Don't @ me, this song still makes me go bonkers when I hear it).

The Sharpest Lives (this one was brutal, so I went with the underdog)

Sleep (I came really really close to voting My Way Home Is Through You - even had it typed out - but I couldn't quite do it)

Welcome To The Black Parade (I love Mama, but like this is THE song you know? A generation defining song. One that our kids and grand kids will also know.)

I remember when that song first came out and I used to play the video on their website constantly. I'm sad it looks like it'll beat Mama but it is a fantastic song.
