I like all of the albums. I think they've gradually gotten better with every release, but that's just me

  9. I love this record (which shouldn’t be a surprise) and I love the focused concise direction of it. I’m glad that this isn’t Harmlessness Pt.2 just like I was glad Harmlessness was Whenever, If Ever Pt.2

pretty much how I feel. I like when bands change their sound on every album. These arn't drastic changes but they are enough to make every album feel fresh.

Only song I ever go back to is the closer. Harnlessness is just so so much better. I'll need a bit of time with this to see how it stacks up. The last few tracks are more akin to my tastes.

I've only listened, I think, 3 times, but I quite enjoy it.

    Some quick thoughts –

It's amazing how fast the first half to 2/3 of the album moves, it feels like I'm at "For Robin" before I even realize it.

And I've said this before in this thread, but I also think the album benefits from being more focused, and shorter. They're really able to home in on (and hone) a particular part of their sound.

With that being said, they still explore a large range within that part of their sound so it never gets boring. That's part of why I think it moves so fast.

The 3 song run at the end (4 if you include "For Robin") is pretty great. I think "Fuzz Minor" gets a little lost being sandwiched between "Marine Tigers" (my current favorite) and "Infinite Steve" (), so I need to spend more time focused on that song on its own, but it doesn't take away from the greatness of the 2 songs surrounding it so I think that bodes well.

I don't like posting what I think lyrics are about because then if I'm wrong I feel stupid, but am I the only one that thinks "Faker" is about Trump??

The chorus of The Future is instantly stuck in my head. That song is a jam.

Nicole was married to Katie. Nicole was apparently abusive(I believe mostly verbally?) to various people, not just Katie(some labelmates, etc). Nicole was then removed from the band. She's doing One Hundred Year Ocean full-time now....and I believe the Broken World Media label is now defunct.
