That's my problem with that record. It sounds like a completely different album from one track to the next, and literally none of them sound good to my ears. When I listen to it, I feel like I'm listening to a bunch of unfinished demos.

I would rather listen to a full album of drums recorded live than an album of fully replaced drum hits. Travis is too good of a drummer to get replaced. TOYPAJ suffers from this a bit but that's just my opinion. I understand how one could prefer that sound at the same time. Just my 2 cents!

This is completely separate from my opinion on the actually songwriting of neighborhoods. Probably my least favorite blink record.

I agree, but I'm holding out to hear the rest of the record. It makes sense to release a song like Bored to Death for a comeback song.

Neighborhoods is awesome and I like everything on it, but it is disjointed and a little long

Dogs Eating Dogs is just awesome

Computer, stereo, car, listened plenty of times. I don't overthink it, I enjoy the album and how it sounds, sorry

I like how Neighborhoods sounds more than BTD does. Although I don't really mind it, I think it it sound (vocals especially) 'overproduced'

Hey @Jason Tate Why did you choose the live version of "Untitled" for your playlist over the album version?

The studi version will always be better to me for Mark's voice after "so sorry, it's over".

Probably anyone who ordered today would be my guess.

Super late, but the "Tom Delonge version" of Bored to Death from Reddit made me laugh. A lot. "And Iiiiii..."

I just read some interesting and relevant stuff about production and I'm pretty curious.

I really love the production on BTD, same for Untitled. I find it quite bad on most of Neighborhoods (something's clearly missing) and rather bad on DED (even if I like a lot of the songs of them since they remind me of great moments, notably Up All Night and After Midnight).

It might be off-topic, but what do you think of the production on AvA albums? Pre/post Critter? I'm far from being a specialist, but I l've always found it quite good on the first two records.

    Thank you in advance!

I like Neigborhoods too, I understand the criticism towards it though to some degree. It's a night time record in my eyes, meaning I can't really get a vibe for some of those songs on a nice sunny day, but for night drives or hangouts, I love it.

P.S. It really bugs me to hear when they, or any musician talks down on one of their own records. I appreciate the honesty, sure, but then again, when you go from saying Neighborhoods is the best album they've done (Mark said this) and that it's a natural progression from Untitled, even referring to it as Untitled 2.0. And then come out after the lukewarm reception and make negative comments about it, kind of left a bad taste in my mouth. Cause every time they comment on their music now, I have a hard time knowing just how honest they are being. Another reason, is that neighborhoods IS some fans favorite blink record and I think it could leave their relationship with that record conflicted. Like "this is my favorite album by my favorite band, and they don't even like it"

When you say yesterday morning, what time zone are we talking? For comparison's sake, I ordered right away on EST and got my code at 4:37pm today.

I'm also going to add that Up All Night is one of the best blink songs ever. Energetic, fun, loud, Dark, Huge, gritty,. It was everything i could've wanted as a comeback single. It was Feeling This at night

Did you do the pre-order through Kings Road? I don't know that it would have been live at 9am EST.

This has been going on for a while and is true for myself. Their reunion tour in 09 I was 21 and my brother and cousins were 13/14. My parents were 45. All of us had a great time and there were definitely people younger than my cousins and older than my parents. I think thats what we will continue to see at all blink shows now and I'm pretty stoked on that.

It happens lol. I'm just panicking because I haven't gotten my code, my friend from an eastern time zone who ordered after me has. And their customer service in phone or email form isn't open on weekends. Panic panic panic
