No Gamecube how did you even survive

 

I miss my Gamecube more than I miss any console I have ever owned since the NES.

 

I had an Xbox and Playstation! At the time, between those two consoles, I had zero interest in Gamecube. I mean what did I miss, Smash Bros and Sunshine? My neighbor had Smash Bros so I'd play that all the time with him.

 

From this list I’ve never owned Snes, Game Gear, Saturn, Sega CD. Also don’t have a PS4

I think the only ones I've never had are the NES, SNES and Dreamcast.

 

Wind Waker and Melee are all I'd really miss from the Gamecube

if you have even a semi-decent laptop, Dolphin may be your best friend. I have a 3 year old laptop with an integrated graphics card, 4 GB RAM... pretty much the basics. Runs Mario Sunshine at widescreen/720p/60 fps

 

Orrr I’ll just walk into the only Target in town at 8:50 and snag one too! They had 49 at 8am, no line when I got there, still had 20 left when I bought mine.

I’ll go pick up the GameStop one and either gift it to a gaming friend for Christmas, or just keep it sealed in my collection. Take that, scalpers!

I got my snes classic and I was about ready to Luigi dab furiously.

 

The greatest game of all time, Wind Waker. Which also came to WiiU, which you also don't own. Damn, man.

 

The store had an SNES Classic. 109€. I did it anyway, but damn it I hate the "Europe tax".

 

Yup, never played Wind Waker. And played TP on the Wii. But back then I wasn't into Zelda games, at all. I was 15-16 when it came out so I was all about shooting stuff like Halo, GTA, Medal of Honor.

 

best GameCube game was Mario strikers

 

If you like them now you should play WW at some point

I almost bought that as a kid

 

I saw it at a local game shop the other day for like $4 and I was like that is terrible. The game should easily be worth $50.

It was a great game.

 

The way Earthbound did the character naming screen was very charming and clever.

Ness enters the screen, after giving him the name he exits. The next characters do the same. For the last one Ness enters the screen with his dog, pets it, and then Ness exits the screen, leaving the dog.

You get to name the dog.

And if you stay on the screen for a few second Ness comes back, pets the dog again and leaves. That was so fucking adorable.

The stores near me got 10-20 consoles except for the target I frequent. They somehow got 40. I was 10th, and there was hardly a line until about a half hour before doors. Super easy much like my Switch experience.

 

I got one! I was 24th in line and got there at 7:59 and they opened at 8 lol

Very happy. I'm pretty sure my Target had about 30

severe disappointment in not being able to afford the switch led me to impulse buy a used 3ds. WHAT GAMES DO I NEED

not heavy into RPGs but would love to give an accessible one a shot. also need to know which animal crossing/paper mario/mario and Luigi games to get and any other recommendations
