why would you ever listen to Neighborhoods

 

It's an album with good songs but not a good album imo

 

It'll always be near the bottom of their disco but I definitely pick and choose songs from that album to throw on shuffle consistently

It was such a big fall album for me but I haven't had any thought of putting it on yet

 

I probably will when Nashville stops treating fall like summer and being 80-90 degrees every damn day

i am listening to neighborhoods right now. i enjoy it okay. i may even wear my neighborhoods shirt out later. go ahead and ban me.

 

Yesterday was the 6 year anniversary of it btw

 

When Neighborhoods came out, I didn't like it. Which bummed me the fuck out. So I forced myself to listen to it pretty much non-stop for a few weeks, hoping it would click. It never really did. There's a small handful of good songs, but overall, it's a snooze-fest. I like Ghost, Up All Night, After Midnight, Snake Charmer, Wishing Well, Hearts All Gone, and maybe a couple others, but even those ones that I like, I wouldn't put any of them ahead of Bored To Death or even She's Out Of Her Mind. Neighborhoods is when I realized that my favorite band lost the magic.

Luckily, Dogs Eating Dogs was a step up from Neighborhoods! But even that one, I only like the first 3 songs.

Blink songs are so hit or miss for me since Neighborhoods. They aren't solid albums anymore like Dude Ranch-Untitled.

I think I tricked myself into thinking Neighborhoods was better than it was because I wanted to like it so bad. I remember being somewhat disappointed in hearing Up All Night for the first time thinking for their big comeback single it was kind of eh. But I really really loved when they released After Midnight, that's a top 10 song blink for me.

There are definitely songs on that album and DED that I like a lot but yeah both albums just felt like something was missing (which clearly there was).

I have no confidence that we can get another blink album as good as Dude Ranch to Untitled but I'm just hoping the next album is better than California and I'll be happy I guess.

 

That's still implying California is an 8/10 though

I was crazy and didn't listen to a single note of new Blink stuff until Neighborhoods officially came out. Then, my brother and I bought a copy, drove up into the mountains, and listened to it front to back. And neither of us were super stoked... hahaha.

 

Bottom of the Ocean is one of the best of the entire California release cycle and it’s not even that good.

 

BOTO, Misery, Hey I'm Sorry, Bored to Death, Los Angeles, Long Lost Feeling, HISALP are the songs that I like.

 

Long Lost Feeling gives me all the feels.

 

Neighborhoods is so much better than California it's crazy

 

The songs actually breath on Neighborhoods.

 

I agree but I don't really particularly like either as full albums
