So its mostly an issue with the source material, that's understandable. Metroid 2 has always a divisive game. Hopefully MercurySteam is allowed to make an original Metroid game next.

 

I like it but I'm in area 3 and I'm honestly tired of the lack of different enemy types lol. It started to drag last night and I had to take a break from it. Gonna start it back up tomorrow though.

Early Golf Story impressions in the media seem to be largely positive. Even the Golf gameplay itself appears to be very good.

 

Oh shit that's going to be out later.

Also SNES Classic should be available tomorrow. So anxious.

 

playing Xbox again has only made me want to get a pro controller more. I'm going to make sure I have one by the time Odyssey comes out.

looking forward to some more early impressions of Golf Story, will probably pick it up over the weekend. I think I'm almost done with Steamworld Dig 2.

 

already playing one golf game at the moment so i don't quite need a second but i will buy every single picross game that comes out

 

Golf Story review

 

They changed so much from the original game that I just dont understand why they didnt add more enemies at least. It all just feels outdated.

 

The first few areas in Samus Returns are great, but it does drag a bit in areas 3-5 because of the sameness (and one of those areas is huge). But once you've unlocked all the power-ups it really starts to kick in again after that. It's honestly how I've felt about each 2D Metroid game that I've played. I'm not finished with the game yet (4 metroids left), but (minor spoiler) I just came across the giant robot boss and got my ass kicked a good 7 or so times before taking him down. I was not expecting a boss fight like that and was pleasantly surprised by it.

 

I feel dumb because I'm totally lost in area 2

 

Ha, I think I got stuck there too for a minute. If you head back to the big statue thing it will show you where the next metroid is on the map. I also abuse the heck out of the scan ability.

 

That's the point of Metroid games. Soon you'll feel like a genius once you figure it out.

I'm buying it when I get home from work. Will only have a couple of hours to play tonight though.

 

My old, chronically ill but awesome guinea pig has to undergo surgery tomorrow. In order to not throw up I'll distract myself with Golf Story while she's at the vet.

curse the pre-orders for happening when I was at work.

 

I felt dumb in area 3 because there was one block stopping my progress and I wandered around forever not knowing what to do before realizing there was a weapon I didn't try lol
