There's at least one Taylor Swift album I like more than Dealer, though Dealer is fantastic.

 

Love the TWIABP thread where we talk about whether Taylor Swift is better than Foxing or not

 

I love Foxing but I agree, they're doing nothing "wild" with music...

 

this new album is OK at best... huge fucking disappointment at worst

this is a very different band to the pre-Harmlessness one...

Whenever, If Ever is a magical record (and the EPs of the era are excellent too), Harmlessness is very good but definitely a tier or two below

Nicole leaving was the nail in the coffin for these guys

oh well...

 

I have a feeling their next record will be "wild" Dealer was meant to be a chill, night record

 

seems like a pretty insensitive statement given what we know about some things.

 

fucked up that thinking an abuser being kicked out of the band was negative for the band


i rarely ever want to listen to WIE these days everything after is so much better, i even prefer the redone formlessness to the original

wow I LOVE this first track

 

I love how we get two lead vocalists two songs in, a huge staple of this band. the future drives so hard, I love it!! so catchy

 

"the future" is the type of song I've been trying to write for years with OOS, super catchy, driven pop punk without feeling like a rehash of old stuff.

 

on Hilltopper and really confused why people think this is a step down. really love the guitars on this, love how dark the vocal melody is.

like holy crap the outro to Hilltopper is insanely good. just started Faker

 

that end of Faker sort of comes out of nowhere but I really love it. emotes really well. that lead guitar too, so tasty. Another great track.

 

love the bass drum work on "faker" outro too, so good. Are people disappointed bc this album doesn't contain the variety of instrumentals that their last album had? It seems to still keep things really interesting with the song writing.

I don't even know what this Nicole person did and I don't want to know - if she's a POS then I'm glad for the individuals in the band that they got rid of her and got to move on

but

the music sucks now and it's probably because she is missing

 

Not to spoil anything for you, but it sprawls out a little more as it goes on. But I think keeping their sound more focused helps this album succeed in a different way from Harmlessness.

 

it doesn't suck though... at least I certainly don't think it does.

 

I think I am going to be one of the few people who prefer this album to their last.

EDIT: I really like the last one but this one seems to speak to my personal taste a bit more.
