I know it's crazy that this game came out of the blue. I just wasn't expecting much, but this will probably be in my top 5 GOTY list.

 

Please be good. Please be good. Please be good. So much hype for a game we've seen so little of. Loving that price.

 

I’m hyped.

 

Switch arrived today. Spent an hour or so with mario + rabbids. Its was rather DELIGHTFUL

 

Surprised at all the love for Samus Returns. Really didn't like it and that's coming from a pretty big Metroid fan.

Steamworld is great though

 

What did you think of the original Metroid 2?

 

I liked it alright, but I had basically zero expectations for it when I played it.

Interesting, I thought the base gameplay was on par with Super and ZM with some really neat new features added. Was it the new stuff you had issues with?

That could be a big release next year.

 

I feel like it depends on if the long rumored Smash 4 Switch ever shows up. If it builds off of Smash 4 (where at this point would most likely also include a fair share of completely new content), then 2018. If it's a totally new Smash, 2019+.

 

im thinking 2019 for smash, at this point i dont think theyll be porting smash 4 and instead will just move on to a new one and they tend to take a while with those. plus i think they have a potentially solid lineup for this switch next year with animal crossin, metroid prime, and pokemon so they dont really need new smash right now.

 

Just hurry up and give me Mario Odyssey.

I should be posting this in another thread, maybe later - anyone here lives in the US (California)?

I might be visiting in a few months so I was hoping on being recommended some things to do (or Nintendo-related placs) while I’m there, or any lifehack for that matter.

I could probably even bring some SNES classics if you guys get shortages again.

With Mario + Rabbids, is ever any cost to resetting the skill tree? Or if the next upgrade I want costs 30 and I only have 10 points to spend, is it always safe to just dump 10 points into some other skill and then when I earn 20 more I can reset and get the one I wanted?

Where in California? I live in SoCal but I grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area

 

Basically, I found it too repetitive. The whole map is just an endless cavern with very little variation and nothing that stands out, I'm pretty sure once you hit Area 3 or 4 you've seen all the enemy types and of course the bosses are repeated a ton. Plus, most of the expansion 'puzzles' boil down to you just needing a specific item to get it. No thinking required just use the item in this specific place and you get the expansion.

There are moments that I liked for sure, particularly the later bosses, but everything in between was a bit of a drag.
