the only bad part about this album is when it's over and there's nothing more to listen to

All of the songs have grown on me for sure. The Mistake and The Parts still seem like weak parts on the album though. Not that they're bad. Just compared to the rest I found them lacking and out of place.


The Maze and The Silence have for sure made it into my Top 10 MO all time.

The Gold is pushing in.

 

The Mistake is the weakest song for me, but it's still an 8/10 track. This album is just ridiculous. Does anyone know how well its been received outside of "the scene" if at all?

 

The Parts is such a lovely calm before the storm of The Silence. And listening the other day, I think the verse about his wife giving birth might be my favorite lyrics on the whole album. Especially the line, "Clenched teeth, nails dug deep into my meaning".

 

The Mistake is still one of my favorites.

The Wolf, The Gold, The Silence and The Maze are probably my top 4.

 

Yeah The Parts is a haunting track. The fact that it was recorded in a bathtub makes it even more magical.

 

Honestly, the Alien, the Sunshine, and the Grocery are my top 3, and everything else on this album are just bonus songs that are also incredible. Those 3 together is one of my favorite pieces of music I've ever heard. (But I'm not saying the rest of the album isn't also absolutely great). The Moth, Leads SD, and the Silence in particular stand out to me. It's seriously great front to back.

I really don't get the hate or maybe hate is a strong word maybe I should say dislike for The Mistake. It's honestly one of my fave tracks on the record. Also love The Moth and obviously The Alien to The Grocery. I think there's a strong case to be made that the second half is stronger than the first half. But yeah front to back it's extremely strong. Definitely their best album. Hands down for me at this point. There's no doubt about it.

Edit: I'm a sucker for big climatic closers like The Silence. What an epic way to end this album.

The Mistake is saved by the "woooo".

 

I used to not like The Mistake but I love it now. The Parts is the only kind of weak spot

 

I love The Alien. Maybe it's because it was released before the album came out but it's definitely one of the strongest tracks imo. I love it and it's so different for them. Really glad I didn't overplay it prior to the album coming out (I almost did) I could say the same thing about The Moth. Sadly I did overplay The Gold but I still enjoy it just not as much as I did in the beginning. It's a second tier top track on the record for me.

 

I would argue that The Mistake is not necessarily saved by the "woooo" as it could theoretically function without it, but it does take the song to dizzying new heights.

The Moth is probably my favorite outside of the Alien sequence, but yea the Alien even without the other two songs is one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard. I love the pace of the song and Andy's vocals over it. Truly beautiful and moving.

 

The Mistake is easily my least fav on this

 

Alien - Grocery is GOAT but man I fucking love Lead. I’m probably in the minority that puts The Silence on the lower teir

An eye is upon you
