I mean I'm the definition of middle ground on this one. I enjoyed it and am glad I saw it in theaters with a bare minimum understanding of what I was about to sit down for. I loved the first hour and a half or so and it kinda lost me from there, I think the more over-the-top chaos at the end detracted from the painfully real situations that preceded it. I don't really want to ever rewatch it, though.

Holy cow, that was freaking incredible. I'm on the loved it side. As soon as it was over, some guy behind me says, "I'm confused. I think I'll stick to Requiem for a Dream." I don't know what's not to get. Pretty crystal clear to me.

Talking to my sister... would've been cool if in the middle there was a storm and some flooding, but I guess Aronofsky was like, "Been there, done that."

  3. I mean, there was the sink that broke that had the water going everywhere, which got everyone out of the house for 9 months

Oh shoot! I forgot about the sink. Oh man, so much happened. Yes!! That's awesome. I was so upset about the literal sink in the moment, I didn't think about it later.

How is the Best Actress field looking for this year? Will this be a 2nd win for JLaw?

Really? I feel like you could hate this film and still appreciate her performance.

Jessica Chastain, Sally Hawkins, Meryl Streep, Kate Winslet, Emma Stone, Margot Robbie and Michelle Williams all have movies coming out so doubtful

Didn't care for her at all in this, which is probably part of the reason I didn't like the movie at all. She never once appeared to be an actual human being and maybe that's the point, but it was hard to really care about her
and for what it's worth, I don't like anybody in this.

For all the chatter about how crazy and shocking this movie is, what struck me most is how incredibly bored I was. Boring, ham-fisted, and predictable.

It's not even that long, and I spent most of it just wanting it to end already.

what a loathsome film this was.... with that said it was far from bad. Any sort of number review for this is irrelevant.

Interesting. I really don't keep up with what's coming out. I am really looking forward to the Sally Hawkins performance though. I want my friends to know who that is when I mention her. Happy-Go-Lucky is a hard movie to describe and recommend.

I’ve somehow managed to stay completely in the dark for this. I have absolutely no idea what it’s about, I just know some people have told me I’d love it and some people have said I’d hate it. I can’t say I was too interested in this but the strong opinions have got me fairly intrigued. I was listening to a podcast and they hadn’t seen it but one of them thought it was maybe a spiritual successor or sleeper sequel to Rosemary’s Baby. It’s not, right? I don’t think Aronofsky has enough restraint to helm something like that.

Lmao. This was the dumbest movie I’ve ever paid for. That title previously belonged to Noah. Good job Aronofsky

Not only was it dumb but I called the ending like 45 minutes before it ended so I was just playing the waiting game the whole time

It was like Aronofsky read The Yellow Wallpaper and the Bible decided to jerk off all over the pages.

For those who like this where does it rank in terms of other films you have seen so far this year? For me it is at number three out of twenty one.
